REVIEW: Ostry KC06 - Page 55

Hypothetically speaking, if Ostry is really as good as some of us hyping the thing said (at least the comparison with $200-500 IEM), what will happen to IEM world when this is more widely known? Can other manufacturer still afford to price lower or similar performance IEM higher?

I personally am just happy to get this kind of sound relatively cheaply, don't really want to spend much for IEM. My last IEM were PL50 and Re-Zero about two three years ago, they're nothing compared to KC06 and I paid about the same or a bit more for them, progress is a wonderful thing. biggrin.gif

Oh and someone on a Chinese online shop review did compare this to W4R, it's not far from what has been said around here. wink.gif

I'm here saying that the KC06 sounds almost as epic as the 1plus2 and K3003, and you're here comparing it to the lowly SE535 and W4. The hype is weak in you, lad. Even the GR07 is technically stronger than both those phones,

But I'll be starting the KC06 tour on Monday. As James said, these things deserve to be heard.

Oh yeah?  Well, I didn't write this before for fear of being accused of exaggerating, but ever since I ordered the KC06 I have not touched my HD800.    I feel the KC06 is so capable that I will put the Sennheiser up for sale today or tomorrow.

My plan is to use the money from the HD800 to buy a Headamp GS-X for the KC06 since the sinergy is out of this world.  End game, my friends...end game!!!

That's more like it!!!

But seriously, the KC06 is the real deal. Looking forward to your thoughts when you get them.

Sell your HD800, buy 24 Ostry and hire some custom company to make custom IEM from it, 12 driver for each side.

I sold my car and ordered the KC06. I sure hope they're a nice ride as well. Should definitely be worth it though!

I'll tell you what they'll do. They'll come to realisation that they're overcharging us in this day and age - the era where advanced technology is in abundance. A company, such as Ostry, have managed to make a somewhat amazing sounding IEM for a mere price of $60, and they're a small company! Imagine what a company like Sony could do with all their resources and money if they had the same mindset as Ostry. There are a few other companies like Ostry who understand how to make the most out of what they got, and still can make a profit for a cheap price.

Goes to show how undeveloped the audio world really is.

Rant over. And Laon..I didn't mean to target you in any way! smily_headphones1.gif It's just a general reply to your question.

This review answers why there's a confusion on the low frequency. According to this review which was written last year, the first batch of KC06 had a problem which caused some units to be bass anemic. It was quickly solved by the manufacturer and buyers were advised to return the units which were affected. The review is written in Chinese so feel free to use the google translation:D

I blame the consumers that allow the companies to overcharge their products.

If the consumers avoided to buy something overpriced, then we would have less of a problem with the overcharged prices from big companies.

They usually keep stating that product (x) sounds awesome because consumers/audiophiles compare it to a (terrible headphone for $20) or to renowned companies like beats or bose they attained before.

Some people (me included) buy something from a big company (like sony) and comment on how a decently priced product sounds great at a certain price range. In addition, we include the words "I would buy it at $3xx" or any higher cost to prove that a cheap iem *say the mh1c for example* is great enough to compete with higher end headphones, and then the company inflates it....

Id rather keep the reduced price thank you. Hopefully ostry will be generous and keep the influx to a minimum
(The highest id pay is $75 with shipping, but id rather pay the 60 or 65)

If this is Ostry's performance ratio for $60, listening to a $300 Ostry product would probably instantly levitate you to the moon on insertion. I just want some of the other regulars to hear them.

No worries lol I know.

I sure hope so, and especially from Japan, they're among the most ridiculous with their pricing for IEM. Maybe I should send this to Headfonia so they could hype them more lol.

This is big part of why I'm buying the gold version; it's bound to be from newer batch since it was released well after the first batch. tongue.gif

@H20Fidelity
I'm actually really curious with their higher priced model whenever it come out now. This thing is pretty impressive but it could use some improvement.
