Currently nothing below $100 comes close to the Kc06 in overall build, design and sound. I'd arguably say the B3 Pro1 edges ahead in sound, but I find the fit and needed tip-rolling a negative that puts it slightly behind these in overall consumer usability.

Since I've found the sweetspot in fit and tips on the B3 Pro1's you can understand why I'm reluctant to jump on this train.

I'm waiting for some ab comparison to pop up between the two so that I can make a decision on wether it worth owning both cause these B3's ain't going nowhere wink.gif

What tips you using with yours peter? These double flanges just aren't doing it for me.
Triple flanges, and I push them all the way back over the stem so that they insert a bit more shallow. Works magic for me so might be worth a shot.

Now they sit so sturdy in my ears that I could even use them for workout.

Hi guys,

so I just couldn't stand the hype anymore! It also made me to register here on head-fi, so this is my first post. Already ordered KC06 from penon yesterday and 2 hours later received a message that my KC06 is marked as shipped, daaamn it was quick.

I've been lurking portable section for a few months but couldn't decide which IEMs to choose. I must say that I've spent quite a lot of time going through Jokers Multi-IEM, Chinese/Asian and Discovery thread so there were tons of IEMs to consider. If anybody is interested, I was deciding also between all of these: RE-400, VC-1000, MA750, Rockit R50, VSDS1, AX35, HAVI B3 (old), Tenore and Pistons (still not sure if theese can be really that good while beying that cheap).

Now I hope that KC06 will completely destroy my Klipsch S4 in every aspect (and no, I don't expect them to have similar signature, S4 have a little too much bass for my liking). One thing I'm worried about is fit and isolation because those are just perfect for me on my S4 with medium double flange tips and from what I've heard this could be kind of a weakness of KC06.

But anyway, I hope these beauties will be great

The Kc06 being vented definitely won't isolate as well as the S4. If I recall correctly, the S4's signature is also fairly hot. The Kc06 is smoother and also handles treble much better, same goes for bass, less is amount, but better texture.

Welcome to Head-Fi (and sorry about your wallet!)

Well to be honest, it's not hard to destroy the Klipsch S4 in sound quality. No matter how much KC06 may fail to live up to its hype, I think its fair to say it'll still be better that the S4.

This thing is pretty nice, not many fullsize has this clarity even, much less in the same price range.

Hello there Atronach, lol i can say we both are the same with regards to being new here and recently bought the kc06s too haha. Odered mine from penonaudio too and they were great, fast as hell replying my emails and even gave me the gold ones for the price of $59 which i thought i was lucky.

Anyways i think you shuld have a look into astrotec ax35 they are awesome too. Probly audition it somewhere if you can. The bass is awesome since its a hybrid with 1 dynamic and 1BA and is able to maintain its mids n highs n clarity but i'd say its still a u/v iem and slightly neutral. I think ax35 itself can beat shure se215,hippos, sens c300ii with sq. I was quite impressed at how well it sounded when i tried them.

Now i'm waiting for my kc06, which people are saying that clarity and tranparency are its strength. If its right then its not a problem to have both with the ax35 being more fun n bassy (awesome bass) and kc06 for clarity and tranparency. although i am not sure how better is kc06 from ax35 because i havnt seen a direct comparison yet but surely if ax35 blew me away with its price and performance ratio, the kc06 will do so too  (*hopefully)

Awesome. Congrats for such a good price on gold version. I personally don't like looks of gold that much, I guess it's too shiny for me a draws attention too much so I decided for silver one. Luckily there is no difference in sound.

Good to hear that you like AX35. I'm really interested in hybrid IEMs because some of them seem like a really good choice from what I've seen here (AX35, DN-1000, H200, H300). Hope you will share here some comparison between AX35 and KC06 after having both in your possesion :)

Yeah i was thinking the same thing too btw ahah i would not like it to be bright gold but rather a low profile understated kind of gold anyways yeah the sound is the same regardless. I will try to give a comparison but i jst ordered mine too 2 days ago so it might take a while to reach my country. Also i am new to this hobby, i may just give brief and general comparisons. But i would rather look forward to Linn's comparison on the kc06 because reading from his review on ax35, i pretty much agree with him and hes alot more experienced.

Well, I have not received my KC06 yet, and I've never heard the VSD1...but I can tell you that the KC06 is much, much better than the VSD1.  As a matter of fact, I can also say with confidence that the KC06, IMO, sounds much better than SE535, W4, DN100 (also models which I have never heard).

Hope that helps.

I read somewhere that kc06 might be comparable to dn1k which for me is already a reason why i should buy it but saying its better than dn1k now isnt that abit too much? let alone better than se535 and w4 haha

I'm here saying that the KC06 sounds almost as epic as the 1plus2 and K3003, and you're here comparing it to the lowly SE535 and W4. The hype is weak in you, lad. Even the GR07 is technically stronger than both those phones,

But I'll be starting the KC06 tour on Monday. As James said, these things deserve to be heard.
