^ you know it's kinda funny/ weird at the same tyme that no one has compared them to the VSonic gr07 variants, or even the VSD1s. C'mon gias ya'll be slackin' on dem impressions tbh.

Yup, more impressions is what the thread needs!  Hopefully in the next wave of buyers!

I'm with sfwalcer and H2O, more impressions and not the least comparisons needed. Would be nice with some real comparisons not only mentioning that they beat x in every way.

I don't know if I missed it but so far I've not seen any comments about their weaknesses and as far as I know there's no such thing as the perfect IEM wink.gif

Cmon everyone! This has just been a huge extended April 1st joke. They suck, and we're all suckers. Biggest suckers of all time to match the biggest hype train of all time..For some reason though, I'm still happy to.have been a part of it!

Sort of strikes me that Ostry is looking to compete on some level with the GR07. The cable in particular reminds me of the GR07, especially that candy striping on the KC06A. Perhaps the KC06A will be to the KC06 what the GR07BE was to the GR07.

I'm interested, but only in one or the other. The KC06As are certainly an improvement on the aesthetic front, so I hope they turn out worthwhile.

+1!

Impressions > hype with love hearts and big grin emoticons.

I'm also only going to get one of them so I'll sit on the fence until the impressions on the a version start coming in.

Just got mine (wow didn't expect them to deliver it today), the gold color actually looks rather understated which is nice.

First impression:
- Still can't match HP100 in clarity, but very very nice
- It's not a basshead or bassy at all but just right for me, no exaggerated midbass hump either (I hate those)
- Despite of that it sounds very full bodied, not thin at all. It actually sounds rather close to a fullsize cans.
- Bass texture and definition is good enough, but can be better
- Treble is a little recessed for my liking
- Vocal is not forward but take on center stage and discernable enough even on complex passage, but this change depending on the recording
- Separation is good but the imaging is not very precise (but you can still tell where an instrument is coming from), and the ceiling is rather short I guess this is what eke talked about by lacking in vertical depth
- Headstage is open
- I can't find a single fatal fault in the frequency balance, yes lots of them can be improved but you don't feel like anything's missing either

Overall I think it's a very balanced IEM and I definitely am more impressed with this than RE400. I agree with what SkyBleu said to me in PM that this IEM is like a mini Soundmagic HP100.

So my bass monster theory can be proven right! (Jk, just the joke I made from our little discussion)

Thanks for putting that into perspective, good thing your impressions don't sway me away from the ostrys, especially since you are impressed with these.

Alright, I can see myself keeping them, they're very easy to listen to. Nothing's offensive or missing, make for a good bed phone. biggrin.gif

I wouldn't mind a bit more high even if it mean some sibilance here and there on bad recording, maybe with KC06B. tongue.gif

Similar to what I heard when I had it. A sort of jack of all, master of none thing. Very decent performer in all fronts, and a very good package when you combine the whole sound as a whole. Take a fine comb to it however...

ok I have no "Drop the bass" gifs. :(

But I can say this, you can wait for those KC06T's. T for the treble enhanced version, ;)

Well you also have to factor the price. I haven't tried many IEM to qualify if there's anything better at doing everything right at this price however.

They could always follow Superlux's way and label anything with less bass with B tongue.gif

Actually B and C version is already implied on their blog so I wouldn't surprised if they exist later
