REVIEW: Ostry KC06 - Page 51

Havi did the same thing, but the Pro II is terrible compared to the original Pro.

We'll just have to see.

But if it does, the kc06 sounds like my type of earphone. wink.gif

low frequency is definitely bass btw.

I know, lol.

I'm saying the key terms, improving texture and feeling.

I'm not saying there won't be an increase in quantity of bass, as feeling alludes to a modest increase in bass levels. But it might just be a change in the way bass is handled with the right tuning. If not, it may be a quantity increase, but(hopefully) avoiding basshead levels.

If it is however, then the kc06 is what I'm sticking with.

Bassier does not necessarily mean bass monster.

Well, in retrospect, I did rephrase my sentence before you quoted me, so there's no need for an explanation lol.

Let me re-establish what my brain is processing.

They said that the low frequency will see better texture and feeling.

How I see it: the bass will definitely be improved in quality, but I doubt that it means it will increase in quantity.

However, feeling does imply that there will be a bassier version of the kc06, but I'm sticking with my gut that it will be a minimal to no increase at all. After all, feeling could also be the thickness of the bass, or even the tightness of the bass, as well as impact (as zelda stated, the kc06 were soft in the bass department, looks like the kc06a may revise that). Which is why I said that it doesn't necessarily mean they'll improve bass levels, because if they do, the texture and quality has to be preserved, and that's quite a challenge imo.

I'm not stating that the low frequency will be left alone, but I am saying that there might only be a small increase in quantity, and a good increase in quality.

It's not ALWAYS implying more bass, that's all I'm saying.

It doesn't make much sense to price it so close to the original model if it's not a variant, and if the price increase for the original model is true it make even less sense, it make much more sense for it to be a bassier version like pretty much every other chinese IEM out there. You sure it's not your own wish clinging from those marketing words instead?

I knew you'd bring this up.

Here's my response.

.....Yes. :o

Because then I'd have the perfect IEM, lol.

Wishful and ignorant thinking, but hey, it might happen one day. Despite the fact that it's priced similarly to the original, and it would be redundant to have a different model with a similar sound sig.

I tend to disregard marketing tactics, so pardon me for my contradictory arguments, lol. I know it would have been weird for the kc06a to have around the same quantity of bass, changing the highs, and leaving the mids alone to be a different earphone, when in fact, is just improved tuning. That would mean it is a replacement for the kc06, but the A version is not meant to replace the existing lineup.

Yes it will happen the day they discontinue the original model. That is if they still price it like it is now.

That's why I'm not jumping on KC06a until comparisons with the original are posted
