REVIEW: Ostry KC06 - Page 43

When I heard them they were a bit away from the DN-1000,  but I only had a few minutes. Maybe I need to get these; H20, do you know anywhere in Australia that sells these?

You could get them from Penonaudio. Free shipping, and great service.

Not in Australia, I ordered from bigbargainonline.

I have DN-1000 and KC06 side by side most of the day.

Orchestral? After 13hrs of burn-in, depth improves, stage opens up, and even timbre improved. No problem.

Edit: Never said W was a veteran, he's just older than what you'd call a newb. wink.gif

I do get what you mean on the confusing newbs with all this hype. While I believe sound should be all that matters, the other things, like build, isolation and fit should be addressed too. Again, I believe that if you're using IEMs on the go, absolute isolation is a bad idea for safety reasons.

I agree with this. That extra slight touch of bass from the B3 Pro1 is what made me keep them over the Ostry. The Ostry has the slight upper hand up high.

Both of them are very transparent and extremely capable for $60. Game changers.

+1. Fit is a little tricky tho, might have to try those Senn double flanges, unfortunately I don't have any on hand so I'm going to have to import if it comes to that. Ugh

You don't need the real ones. Something like this would work fine.

Sorry to sidetrack a little, but @Exesteils I just noticed you ordered the Geek out. Can I just ask if you ordered the 450 or 1000 variant? I ordered the 450 because most of my IEMs and Headphones are lower end with also lower impedance, like the KC06 and Havi B3. I'm just wondering if I should change it to the 1000 instead. What's your opinion, considering most of your gear seems not to be those with high impedance?

I will be receiving my KC06 some time towards the end of next week. I will do an A/B comparison with the Havi B3 then.

From what bhazard and Exesteils have mentioned, I can see where KC06 might excel over the B3. My expectation is that the B3 and KC06 are both incredible in the midrange, with the B3 having the slight edge in the bass and KC06 being better in the treble.

Either way, I do not think there is any doubt that both will be keepers.
