I'm pretty confident they can yes. Especially if you're looking to achieve a clearer mid range. The soundstage on these Ostry is very wide with C3, as is the headstage large. Whoever tuned these knew what they were doing as they're not only detailed but strong technically, like dynamics, seperation and imaging.

Easy to recommend.

I'm using Colorfly C3 which has some low end roll-off so I'm losing a touch of sub-bass extension to give an accurate opinion, but they're a little bassy, it's a little forward, plenty enough for EDM, I'm surprised how versatile they're to many genres.

Honestly you wouldn't think they're $60, and I can totally understand members being sceptical at such a price Lol. They genuinely sound like a $250 earphone! Makes my get a bit gitti inside. :-P

You guys will have that on your conscience

Have to agree with the poor newb part. Imagine a poor newb having just read the last 10-15 pages of this thread in search for information on the KC06.

I probably would have blown my brain out by now.

Not just the newbs, even old members would be pulled in by the hype these things have been picking up. *coughwaynecough*

How would you guys pronounce Ostry? At first I thought it would be sort of like "aus-tree" but it seems like it's supposed to be "oh's try" because Ostry apparently stems from their slogan "O's life always try".

*coughwaynecough* is still a newb by my standards. ;)

Don't get me wrong, the KC06 deserve recognition. Actually, I've been recommending them from page #1 of this thread. I'm just saying that once hype becomes the main topic, useful information goes to the dogs.

To give an example and pick up on the "single vs. multiple IEM recommendation" discussion from a few pages earlier: imagine a newb looking for a pair of great sounding IEMs with good isolation. Which one would you recommend to him? The KC06? The FX850? Or even both?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Correct answer: None of them, because both are heavily vented and offer only little isolation.

That's when the B3 Pro1 comes in. I have them right now and tbh, except for the power hunger, I find them to be every bit as capable as the Kc06. Vocals? A breeze. Edm, drum and bass, cakewalk. Orchestral? After 13hrs of burn-in, depth improves, stage opens up, and even timbre improved. No problem.

Edit: Never said W was a veteran, he's just older than what you'd call a newb. wink.gif

I do get what you mean on the confusing newbs with all this hype. While I believe sound should be all that matters, the other things, like build, isolation and fit should be addressed too. Again, I believe that if you're using IEMs on the go, absolute isolation is a bad idea for safety reasons.

Do you have them side by side?

A friend has the Kc06. And from memory, both are indeed very capable, albeit very differently so. Again, B3 definitely takes the cake when it comes to bass amount, texture is debatable without a/B. What I feel Kc06 has going for it is in terms of transparency.

I'm fairly confident mate they can challenge DN-1000 quite easily. Ya'll think I'm crazy.

Read back through the thread when you have time at some of the comments from established members to be assured.

The soundstage is actually wider than DN-1000 with better coherency / detail in the midrange.  Plus they sound more natural in timbre than Dunu's BA's can achieve.

I'm debating rebuying them myself and trying new tips.

It sure sounds that way.
