Let's just say I had a "conversation" with Wayne's donkey...
Surprise (Click to show)
I actually purchased a pair a while back to replace the TPeos D201 PB I gave my niece. It started having problems and she gave it back to me. I told her I would replace it, that was six months ago...

I'll try to get her opinion in the mix but given she thinks I'm "weird", I'll provably have to jump her and tie her down.

Not weird.... Nope.

She seems happy with the beats my brother bought her tho so there's that. She didn't like the Focal Spirit One I gave my brother (O_o)

O snaps! You can take me off, I'll get to give them a listen.

Can't speak for the gr07 BE but the mk2 and original are going to be more linear, so I can see many favoring the Vsonic. However I find the KC06 treble less annoying, with small bore tips (with wide bore, all bets are off). Plus the coloration of the lower and middle mids of the KC06 is pretty special to me. I'd give technicalities to the Vsonic but pure listening pleasure to the KC06. Vsonic ever fix their treble issues on future but delayed models, well that would be something.

the only aspect in which the xiaomi pistons is better is in the bass quantity.

for everything else, my opinion is that the KC06 eats the pistons for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. not forgetting supper.

Safe to say they are close and the usual gear, synergy, fit, tips, etc. account for the variances. Yours may be the only clear cut winner I have noticed as the rest are slight margin victories.

How do find the Ostry and Mikros compare?

Although I think the GR07 wins, I have not regularly used the Vsonic in quite a while because of fit issues (when I do put them on they do sound great).     The GR07 isolate a little better than the KC06, so that's another small victory for the Vsonic.

Right now the KC06 is my go-to IEM.   I'm really glad I purchased the Ostry...yet I can't say it is a giant killer.   The fact that it comes very close to the SQ of the GR07 is quite an achievement.

The Mikros, for my tastes, is superior to both the GR07 and the KC06, but not by my much though.  Keep in mind that I usually prefer headphones to IEMs.

+1. the Xiaomi are great for $25-30. but the Ostry beats them anytime, any second, any minute, any hour, ... simply no comparision.

if you want a strong (but also good) bass and somehow V-shaped sound, then get the Xiaomi. and then get the Ostry too!:p

What would be the IEM with xiaomi Bass with soundtstage, mid, high Ostry ? This price range or a little more.
Maybe Astrotec AX-30, AX-35, CORECOOL V2 ?

nah, the Piss_tons is like a poor poor mans version of the KEF M200s, so if you want a complete and total upgrade from them the M200s would be it. Both offer a more mellow, warm sounding kinda bass presentation but clarity, quantity and quality is much better on the KEFs. i would say the the M200s is almost exactly as what you want if it's a "IEM with xiaomi Bass with soundtstage, mid, high Ostry"

If you can deal with the MASSIVE housing and size of the M200s, and is able to get a great seal, they sound pretty damn great esp. if you can get them for like $100 to $125 used on the sales forums here.

edit: But if you want a iem that is more sub bass focused that better than the Piss_tons for basshead audiophiles the Nuforce NE-700 (X or M) models are great for a cheapo that can hang with the likes of the JVC FXZ200s and Sony bass iems, if you can get them for like $35 used in the sales forums here. For $60 new they are still damn amazing for the price if you want to get your bass fix. ;)

cant say for sure, but maybe the DN1000. but the mids and highs arent like the Ostry's, and price is 200+. Stage is HUGE though.

Quick Impressions.

GR07 BE VS KC06

Bass: GR07 BE digs deeper, hits harder, and sounds more textured.

Vocals: KC06 sounds more spacious, cleaner, smoother.

Treble: KC06 is brighter, carries more air, and once again sounds smoother.

The KC06 cable is less supple, less smooth, and more springy then the BE's cable. Cable thickness before Y-split is the same, after Y-split KC06 is thiner. Y-split on KC06 is hilariously unpleasant. KC06 doesn't have a chin slider but you can twist the housing before insertion to help the cable "stick" to your ears. Jack on GR07 BE is heftier and better built.

The KC06 housing feels quite sturdy(much thanks to its material) and is very comfy(much thanks to its size). I would say these are MOAR bed friendly then the GR07 BE.

These little guys sound quite(quite) nice I must say. The first thing I thought when I tried them was clarity. They outdo my GR07 BE in spaciousness and mids-highs refinement but their reach is not limitless. I don't think they match up the the vocal spaciousness/realism of the the EX1000 for example but what does? Because of this and my impression of their lows, I wouldn't have trouble choosing for phone number one here, GR07 BE come out on top.

Unlike the EX1000, which has superb(superb!) vocals, the KC06 doesn't have something to make me seriously think about lowering my minimum bass floor. That said, I find these a fantastic value for a mere 36 quid 👍

I used a iPhone 4. Orange tips on the GR07, ASG 2 double flange on the KC06.

If the KC06A does to the lows what the KC06 did to the GR07 BE in mids/highs......

That's what I'm thinking. If they retain the clarity they have up high, while giving the bass more impact and texture... it would make a giant killer, and the perfect IEM.
