REVIEW: Ostry KC06 - Page 71

post #1051 of 2535
Sold some of my spare iem so I could validate buying another iem... Now would you recommend waiting or buy now? Also has anyone used these in the gym? Assuming from the hype here that nothing comes close to these when it comes to price range? Lastly on regards to the sound signature would you describe it as analytical or musical? Basically trying to get the best bang for my buck, and thanks to all of the hype threads I'm stuck in terms of what I should get. Options I'm looking at so far are havi b3 pro I, kc06, pistons, ax35, xba-1, and lastly vsd1s

WOW :basshead:
better then that t-peos h300.

deciding if the KC06 or 06A meets or exceeds dn2000 performance.
$ 60 vs $ 315 incredible

I'm glad I got on this hype train then...

...but 3003 levels?  I think that those guys in China are taking their hype to a level never seen before (at least not on Head-fi).

Maybe we should invite them to this site to give a seminar on how to hype.   And we thought we were good.  :redface:

VSD1S is not really that WOW compared to hype of Havi/KC06 or Pistons. I broke my pairs after half a year by dropping it on the floor... and it just stops working last week.

My next pair will be KC06A or KC06.

Everyone has their own definition of what "analytical" or "musical" like, but I don't think this IEM is detailed enough for me (doesn't mean they don't have detail, on the contrary) nor is it unfun (lack of bass) or fatiguing (which can either mean too much bass, piercing treble, too shouty/mid forward or all of them combined).

How do people remain so patient I want to pull the trigger on these but the kc06a is right around the corner :S they have been compared to westone 4, 1plus2, and akg 3003 O_o

Anyone have a iem that they'd recommend that would put my urge to purchase on hold at least till kc06a reviews are out?

@laon

What iem would you say is more detailed, if any, below the $150 price range?

I dunno, I'm basing this from my unfair comparison with my fullsize. I don't have other reference since I'm new to IEM world, well I did have Soundmagic PL50 and Hifiman Re-Zero years ago though (from memory they're both nothing compared to this).

vPulse (Don Scorpio Bass Colour 35$) is a bass IEM. You won't get that much of bass on KC06 because it's pretty balanced. It can be more refined, but definitely not for a basshead.

Actually I seek a replacement for Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 EB. With similar Bass or better.

I'm all for hype, but has anyone really said that?

I'll edit it out, but they have been mentioned in the same sentence as those iems, just trying to help myself push purchase.

I really wasn't. The Ostry is an amazing IEM, through and through.

I was supposed to send them out on tour last week, but I just now got the strength to let them go.
