Using FooBar2000 for converting WMA Lossless files to Flac

Thread Starter

There is another thread on this website about being able to do this and it seems that others were successful with foobar back in 2006 and 2007, but that was an old thread.

Has anyone been able to convert WMA Lossless files to Flac using the most current release of FooBar2000?

I just downloaded it and followed the instructions from the other thread, but it seems to not recognize input files that are WMA Lossless file type.

I set the selection to use "All supported types" and then use Ctrl-A to select all files in the selected folder (they are all WMA Lossless files), then I right click on the highlighted files and select convert.  I setup the conversion options to convert to Flac and when I click Convert, a windows explorer like window reappears with no files selected.

It's like it's not picking up the Windows Media Audio file types to convert.

Any experience with this either confirming that FooBar2000 will not do this, or further directions so I can get started converting would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,  Nihols

It seems to request you to select an encoder executable file on your hard drive (like flac.exe)
