Server Problem: Files Disappearing

I have a problem that I can't seem to find a solution to by Googling.  I've successfully used Foobar to play music off my home network on my Oppo 103.  But recently, Foobar won't "see" some files.  I bought and downloaded a few collections of music from Amazon and they're all in standard folders.  Foobar sees all the folders but somehow for some of the folders it can't see the files inside.  When I try to add files it simply says there are no files.  But I verified externally that all the folders have files and those will play on my computer or when copied to flash drives.  This doesn't seem to be a sharing problem since that entire hard drive is shared in my home private network and clearly Foobar can see and play 90% of the material on that drive.  Yet mysteriously for folders which are all in the Amazon MP3 downloads subdirectory it only sees some files and not others despite seeing all the folders.

Does anyone have an idea what's going on?

Thanks for any help.

In case you have iTunes installed get rid of it. It's a jealous prick of a player - in my computer it hogs all FLAC files, and I'll see everything on MediaMonkey disappearing one by one, even if iTunes can't actually play FLAC.

Possibly a DRM issue with Amazon?

But it makes no sense. I can't seem to figure it out. All the other downloads from Amazon can be seen and played in the shared folders, but somehow two complete sets of music (Big Schubert Box and Schumann: Rise of the Masters) can't be seen by Foobar when shared.  I even tried copying those files to another folder and renaming them.  Same problem. They can be played on the original computer but not shared.  Yet very similar downloads (Big Mahler Box) can be played with no problems.

Im willing to bet on DRM restrictions. What if you download the same music onto another PC and try sharing them out? Same result?

But how can it be DRM restrictions? Other collections from the exact same series  with works from the same record labels work fine.
