Audio system for Laptop under 200 EUR

Thread Starter

Hello,

I'm new here.

I have a Laptop with Creative USB 5.1 sound card. I am planning to get Klipsh ProMedia 2.1 THX but then, my friend suggest me to build a system for music (melodies and soft music) for that budget (around 200 EUR) that I can buy from Amzon.de or eBay.de.

I think I need a receiver (can be analog or optical from the Creative USB 5.1 sound card) and 2.1 or 2.0 speakers.

Could you please advice me on which items I should go for?

Thank you so much

I am looking forward to your advice!

I'm not familiar with pricing where you are, but 200 euros doesn't seem like enough of a budget if you have to buy a receiver, too, unless you find a used one for a good deal.

Thank you for your reply.

What do you think about this one: Mohr SV-50 Black Stereo Integrated Amplifier AMP amplifier output stage amplifier

I found it from Amazon.

Can it replace for a receiver?

Sorry. I don't know anything about that amplifier.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your reply!

I will go back with Klipsh.

What do you think if I have to select among: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX, Bose Component 3, Acoustic Energy AEGO M 2.1

The Klipsch Promedia are very good for their price. Haven't heard the other two.

JBL LSR 305 have been getting great testimonials from people since they came out this fall: http://www.thomann.de/gb/jbl_lsr_305.htm

I will need 2 pieces of JBL LSR 305 and one amp?

I am checking and finding bookshelf speakers like Heco Victa 301 Black (Pair) or Magnat Vector 203 2-Way Bass Reflex Speakers 160 Watt Black (Pair)

Then, try to find a amp for that pair.

I take my time because I am starting from the beginning.

The JBL LSR 305 are studio monitors, sold as each, and they have their own amplifiers built in.

That's so great!

Do you know how to connect both speakers to my Laptop via USB sound card?

I still don't find any manual about this

Depends on what kind of audio output plug your sound card has. Typically its 3.5mm. If so, you need a 3.5 mm to 1/4" plug for the JBLs: http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-CMP159-Stereo-Breakout-10-Feet/dp/B005HGM1D6/
