Hopefully they can make one better than that! That poor dog is going to crap on its own legs!

LOL!! Didn't thought about that!

BTW, it's good to hear that the Alpha Pads go well with the Enigma's! :)

It's different. Enigma is bassier and warm. Code-X is more "accurate".

Would the Audeze headband and yoke fit on the Enigma?

Why would you want the LCD2 headband on any headphone though?

Yeah.

One of the big obstacles when making these was getting the headband right. I wanted comfort with the JUST the headband. The headband by itself if super comfortable. Add in the 'controversial' suspension strap, and you've got a headphone you can wear for hours on end. Don't like the feel or look of the suspension band, then the actual headphone headband will do an excellent job.

So yeah...this headband is it...no other options....at the moment.

I'm late to this thread - but this made me spit coffee on my monitor.

I had the chance to speak with Louis, and to hear the Enigma, Paradox and Slant at the Bay Area meet.  Caveat - "My name is aamefford, and own and like the Alpha Dogs."  "Hi aamefford..."

That said, and the additional caveat of "meet conditions" (loud room, unfamiliar rig, unfamiliar music, etc.).  I've only gotten to about page 7 or 8 (wherever the above quote is that made me spit coffee).  The comments of those that have heard them and seen them are spot on.  They are lovely in a hand crafted way.  The Sugi wood finish is unfamiliar and interesting, and quickly really grows on you.  It is the type of finish that will take on a patina of beauty and use as you own and handle them.  I didn't get the chance to really see the other finishes.

I really liked the sound.  To me, very neutral, a touch laid back maybe, with a quite expansive sound stage, more so than the Alphas.  They definitely sound "different" than the Alphas.  To me, both headphones sound like they are made and voiced by folks who know what sound they want to hear, know how to get there via construction and tuning, and have each produced a signature headphone that exhibits this.  The differences - each maker is heading for a slightly different target, the Alpha dogs are made to be produced and sold in some quantity, and the Enigmas are a hand built labor of love.  I can't comment too much further on sound, as my memory of the Enigmas is fading.  The above are just comments I remember making when I spoke with Louis.

In summary, I still love my Alpha Dogs.  I'd own the Enigma in a heartbeat as well, but not yet, strictly for money reasons.  The enigma is a lovey sounding, well made, comfortable and good looking headphone.  The Sugi finish is just plain cool.

How about an update LFF?   I'm not seeing any reviews or any other posts on whether others have their Enigma's!  I haven't heard a word on mine since I ordered them last week!

Yup.

A previous update from LFF:

So...ENIGMA UPDATES!

1 - 6: Finished and will ship out sometime in the next week or two.  Still waiting on some cases to arrive to finalize it.

7 and up: Waiting on wood to arrive. I ordered more wood which should have arrived 2 weeks ago. It's been a no-show and I have opened a case with the shipping company. Still waiting to see what will come of that. I have ordered wood from another source now and I am currently waiting on delivery for that. If it arrives in the next week or two, I should be able to complete orders into the teens within the next month, maybe sooner! Any questions...feel free to ask!

This was a week or 2 ago which is why I bumped the thread! ;-)

It shouldn't be much longer before we see impressions. Wouldn't surprise me if the first few are in the mail as we speak
