Noob in need of Closed Headset/Headphones(+whatever necessary to have great 5.1)+modmic for Lan events

Hello,

I've been trying to find a good 5.1 headset to play with at Lan but throughout my search people said headphones + card + DAC + modmic might be better. However i dont know much about these, i never had a sound card, other than mobo and my PC363d external sound card.

As i said i own PC363d and my motherboard is MSI z77ma-g45, i also have Logitech 5.1 z5500 , i think this is what you need to know in terms of my current setup. If not just ask.

I was thinking of getting Seinnheiser G4ME ZERO and using it with my PC363d sound card to get the 5.1.

But there probably are better options available to me that i dont know about :D

I dont really care about music and movies, i want them to play Counter Strike Global Offensive, so the main thing here is the positional.

Atm, people told me to get g4me zero with pc363d card, Asus vulcan pro ANC.

I dont really have a limit to my budget, but im going to say like 300-350 euros. So 480 USD.

Thanks guys! I hope this is the forum that will help me :) I tried others but no one seemed to know much about these issues.

UPDATE: my best option atm is Seinnheiser g4me zero+Creative ZxR

I don't think your are going to get anything that is significantly better for gaming than the sennheisers you got. But actually, I can't really find anything on them. I know the older 360's were very good.

Maybe you should just try with a new sound card or something?

Do you need a closed (isolating) headphone for LAN?

I really do need them to be closed, otherwise i would keep using my PC363d which are open. So to keep using them is not a viable option for me.

The thing is i dont know if buying G4me zero's or some good closed headphones and using it with PC363d sound card will be better than buying a soundcard and headphones + a mic. And if the later combo is better, im lost when it comes to soundcards good for surround on headphones in gaming.

Can't really think of any closed headphones I'd recommend for gaming, though there are surely some out there...
