Would MMX 300 be an upgrade over Audio-Technica A900X in my situation or is it worse than what i already have ?

  Hello everyone.

I'm currently using A-T A900X with a zalman microphone. I am happy with my A900X but i am not happy with the quality of my microphone and i don't find it comfortable so i am planning to get a new headset.

I checked beyerdynamic's website and it has a ''New'' tag for MMX 300. Did they release a new version that is close to quality of T90-T70 ? As far as i know MMX 300 was released  5-6 years ago so can someone give information about that please ? Why does it say NEW on their website ?

Also i would love to get some headset / headphone + mic suggestion.

Thank you for reading.

It says new because its a revised version. They give a brief description of it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5ukiSMWs6U
If you want comfort i suggest you check out audio technica's 2 newish gaming headsets the ATH-AG1 and ATH-ADG1 they are amazingly comfortable and have fantastics mics. I actually have both the ATH-ADG1 and MMX 300 and i honestly cannot decide which one to keep lol, they're both excellent for comfort, sound and mic quality.

Earpads are fine actually i just dont find a900x comfortable because of its headband design. It is not tight enough for me.

I checked modmic aswell but their latest version is not available yet. Are there any other good alternatives ?

You are right and each time you remind me that i feel like it is a huge waste pfff i don't know what to do :) I'd really love to spend that money on a better headphones and get an add-on microphone but i can't find a good one, thats why i wanted to buy mmx 300.

The modmic 3.0 is good enough, or you can wait a bit for the 4.0 Ver release in 1 or 2 months.
/!\ check if the mic is ok with ur sound card /!\

However i should recommend you: A headphone Without mic, but removable jack like :

So you wont use your headphone only at gaming.
