I don't know what other section that this should be posted in but ill give DIY a shot. So today i received a strip of LED's that i had specifically ordered off of Amazon. The strip is 72cm and i have it going completely across under my dashboard. They are green. They are 12v and the connection type is a chinsy little 24 gauge positive and negative wire. I have them hooked up to my aftermarket head unit and i have it tapped into the speaker connections going into the deck. They work and i really like them but my stereo has to be cranked to an ear-piercing level for them to flash. Is their anyway to have them pulsing good when the stereo is at a moderate listening level? I also have an amplifier for my 2 subwoofers that i could hook them up to, i will do that if theirs no way to do it with the stereo, thanks. I do understand these are illegal.

Where is it illegal?

You could try modifying something like this: http://dx.com/p/replacement-sound-and-music-activated-spectrum-vu-meter-el-visualizer-disco-4-aaa-53478#.UwAp_WJ_uLw.

Or you could try something like this...

...no guarantees, I just made it up off the top of my head.

I know it is illegal in Colorado because its representing an emergency vehicle. Like i said, i got green because if anything, its better than red or blue. And to be honest here, i have no idea what is going on in that picture.
