Help narrowing down what I've come up with . . .

Hey guys! I'm planning to buy my first true set of cans in the next few weeks!! I've been looking around on the forums here and talking to an audiophile friend of mine and I think I kind of have an idea of what I want. Most of what I listen to is Indie Rock (Bombay Bicycle Club), electronic (think The Glitch Mob), or movie soundtracks (Hans Zimmer, Alexandre Desplat). I'm looking for a pair of cans that aren't too bright (The sharp cymbals and highhats get on my nerves sometimes and tend to give me headaches). Instead, I'd rather have something where I can really appreciate and feel the deeper, darker strings and synthesizers that people like the Glitch Mob and minor-tonality soundtrack composers like to use. I'm looking for anything below my $300 price limit. It doesn't matter much if they are open or closed back as I'll be using them mostly at home.

So far I have come up with these

-A900x

-DT 770's

-HifiMan HE-400s

Do you guys have any pointers/recommendations as to which of these would be best suited for the kind of music that I listen to. I'm totally open to new recommendations too! Thanks

The HE-400s are really a gem. I think they are pretty edgy for those synth sounds and actually have good bass response too. The first I listened to them, I was wow'ed. The trebles are pretty good as they extend, but I never felt them to be too fatiguing as I'm pretty sensitive to highs as well.

Plus, the price nowadays is 300 new!
