Is this amp enough to power the DT 770 Pro 250 Ohms?

I'm gonna buy me a DT 770 PRO 250 Ohms soon.

Since my Focusrite 2i4 audio interface will not have sufficient power to drive these headphone, I'm looking to buy a headphone amp for it.

I have been looking at the Schiit Vali, but I want to know if these will be enough to get the best out of the DT 770 Pro 250 Ohms? Or should my interface be fine powering it?

Thanks,

Sedoc94

I tried finding power output specs on the headphone output on the Focusrite and was unable to get a clear answer. On Focusrite's product page for the 2i4 it lists an analog output at <12 ohms and 24mW. I'm assuming that is the headphone out, but I could be wrong. That really isn't very much power at all. The Vali outputs 220 mW rms into 300 ohms. I'm estimating it will put somewhere around 250 mW rms into 250 ohms. The best advice I can give you is to try the DT 770 with the 2i4 and see how it works. Assuming the specs on Focusrite's page are the correct ones for the headphone output, the Vali would drive the cans far better.

Okay thanks.

I will try them out on my interface and if they don't do so well, I'll get the Vali amp.

The Vali really should have no problem driving 250-Ohm headphones.
