+1 on the Fidelio X1. They're even praised in the BassHead Club thread for the bass they have as an open headphone.

I currently own both DT880 250Ω and M50s. I already had M50s when buying DT880 and I was considering both DT770 and DT990.

The reason why I hadn't picked those is similar why you want something else then M50s, not so surprisingly, classics. My musical style is quite diverse from metal through rock, some selected vocal pop songs, ... to classics (orchestral, organ, piano, violin, experimental new classics, etc.), opera (imagine that with recessed mids), ... and through all that I love electronic music. So what I needed was something much more neutral and I got that with DT880. You can always put those M50s back on when you really need that bass shocking your brains.

Today I still use my M50s at work and in public transportation and still love them very much.

Apparently I just pulled the trigger on Beyer DT990 Pro. Can't ignore the great price on Amazon for just $145. Hopefully it's an excellent upgrade to M50's. Will report soon once I receive it! Thanks for the help head-fiers! My wallets are screaming tho! Lol the saying "welcome to headfi and sorry for your wallet" is starting to get real...
