Gaming/Music all rounder

Thread Starter

I'm looking at getting a good audio setup on my PC.

I've ordered a Creative Soundblaster Z (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/creative-sound-blaster-z-pci-express-ultra-high-performance-sound-card-51ch-optical-in-out)

and I'm thinking of pairing it with AKG Q701s (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004444O3W/)

First question is, is this all the equipment I need or will I need an amp of somekind to get the best out of the Q701s?

Second question is, are there better headphones I could be spending my money on?

Their use will be for gaming, primarily insurgency. Plus a wide range of music, including bass heavy DnB

The SB Z should be able to drive the Q701, technically speaking.

If you want alternatives:
