Need All-Around Headphones under $300

Thread Starter

Hello I want to buy headphones for the purposes of listening to rock, hip-hop, some rap and gaming on pc.

I have never spent that much money on headphones before, so I am obviously not a audiophile and thus I just want my music to sound good.

I want closed headphones because I want to be able to take my headphones out of the house. I will be using them on a samsung galaxy s4 and from my p.c. Do I need a amp to be able to enjoy my headphones properly on those devices?

So what would you guys suggest? I've read a lot of reviews but I want some suggestions on what headphones are best for me.

Thank you for your time,

Sck1229

As long as your headphones are under 60ohm of impedance (or so) you should not need an amp for either device.

I think the K545 would suit your needs:

1. Closed-back

2. Around-ear

3. 32ohm

4. 2 detachable cables (Android and Apple) with mic

5. Folds flat

6. Less than $250

You forgot to mention, best of all, you own one.

They look like a very good option but are they durable? Also am I sacrificing any sound quality because there are "portable"?

I would say they are durable (Stainless steel headband)... although that is subjective. What would we be comparing these to?

They do sacrifice a bit of sound-stage compared to their larger cousins (K550/K551) but they have more bass. (K550 was lacking in this department)
