Tonite I have chance to try my AK 240 SE line out pair with my RSA Intruder

Source : AK 240 use SE Line Out > Intruder line In
Dac/ Amp : RSA The Intruder
Headphone : LCD XC use Norse cable Reign Series 8 braid x 26 awg balance RSA / Kobikon plug
Cable : mini to mini diy
Music : WAV , AIFF , FLAC 24 bit and DSD

My impression :
High : very good clarity with extended crisp high , better detail than RS 71 B and Pico Power and slightly better than Duet
Mid : very clear and clean mid , a bit thiner than Duet but better clarity , Duet has more analog mid
Bass : very detail and clean Bass , not as deep impact as Duet , bass speed about the same with Duet , Duet has fuller bass
Separation : on par with Duet , I think is slightly better than Duet
Soundstage : is wider than. Duet , Duet has better Depth
Background : black Background
Hiss : Zero. Hiss lie Duet

Overall :
I have tested Duet , The Intruder , Pico Power and RS 71 B pair with AK 240
My favorite as follow : Duet > Intruder > Pico Power > RS 71 B
The Intruder sound character to mid high with better clarity than. Duet and Pico Power and RS 71 B
Duet has sound character to mid low with better mid and Bass impact

I like these two amps Duet and Intruder pair with AK 240 , for certain music genre these Amps has plus and minus point

Duet is overall better than Intruder if you hear jaxa vocal , country and blues

Intruder is better than Duet if you hear instrumental , minus the bass impact to thin and mid sound to mid high

For all rounder Duet is the best from these four pair with AK 240

Nobody is perfect , but I love these two amps

IMO

Just listening to Frank Zappa 'Shut Up and Play Yer Guitar' and now the doors in 24/96 with 334s……..this has to be the best all in one unit available today.

Tonight I receive the balanced cable for the Mentors from Ted Allen's Headfood Lounge………tomorrow plane rides and I am looking forward to listening.

You know, I'd have to say maybe not. There is a second or two till the next cut. Is that considered gapless?

I know its supposed to have it. My 120 was too, but it never did. There was a most of the time a 4-5 second gap. What was explained to me was when the player went from one type file to another or different bit rates, it caused the delay.

So far with the gapless DSD albums I have in hand I'm hearing that 1-2 second gap as you have mentioned. Admittedly these are my self-ripped from my SACDs (to a single ISO file per SACD, then further manually unarchived to individual DSF files per track via sacd_extract). So I'm guessing it's something wrong with my process rather than the AK240 firmware. Maybe I'll need to buy a gapless DSD album online to see if that's the case or not.

Ok, just downloaded DSD Album, 2.8 MHz , and there IS a 1-2 second delay, while switching tracks to next, Using balanced out, failed to notice the delay last time I listened. A 1000 pardons gentleman.. Next time I won't be so hasty , and put a fact on the table before I am a 100% sure.

Sorry, more questions from my part - charging whilst listening (at least with DSD). It seems to drain faster than it can charge? Is that your experience too? Admittedly I've not searched for this in the forums yet. Currently on the road.

This is off the PC, not wall socket charger.

Hi everyone,

I've notice a problem on my AK240 that seems to be getting worse. Using the knob to adjust the volume control results in sporadic behavior: sometimes the control works in the opposite direction it is supposed to, sometimes it is sluggish moving in the proper direction, sometimes instead of .5dB steps it changes several dB at each slow turn—click— of the knob.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue on their unit? I have v1.09 installed.

Thanks for any help ...
