I wonder if Moon Audio could whip up a IE-800 balanced cable?

If you add amp to Your AK 240 via line out , you Will Love Your AK 240 more than direct for full Size headphones
IMO

WOW! I never turn my AK240 up above 60 with the T5p's connected - do you like it really loud? :-)

Not Loud but With external amp shine more , you Will hear more weight And more pronounce detail
If you have Any Amps on Your rigs , please try it
In Low volume you Will hear better SQ than Without amp

AK 240 it Self is The best DAP on The market now

IMO

Thanks Rudi, you always have good quality info, as a somewhat noob , only been addicted to high end audio a few years now, I look forward to you guys with more knowledge and experience

Any comparison between the AK 120 red audio mod's with the AK 240? I would like to know if the SQ improvement is worth the upgrade...

Questions again:

1. Does the AK240 support 32bit float, the AK120 does.... am assuming the 240 would also.

2. What happens when you have both headphone jacks filled? Can you use one with or without the other?

3. People using it with large headphones... how does it compare to your experiences with other devices when powering those headphones?

4. How warm does the device get and also, how does it feel in the pocket... know how much it weighs but with the size and shape am wondering it it may feel to angular for the inside of a jeans pant.

Wondering the same, with a 71b the cost will be nearly the same but the SQ would have to be better.

You are welcome

Love my T5p with AK240. The T5p most definitely does not need an amp too. It's huge, physically (IMHO) but the impedance and sensitivity scream portable.

AK240 +  Portable Tube Amp TU-05  or  TUR-06  :D

My TU-05 match perfectly with my TH-900. Incredible synergy.   But not so portable.... so TUR-06 may be better choice for portability.

I really need to upgrade my RWAK100 to a AK240 or...Calyx-M to be the source for my TU-05..

No way will I amp it. I've, over the past few weeks, got to love just charging up just 1 device  :happy_face1:  before trips.

The BIG downside is the battery life on DSD which I reckon is about 7-8 hours.

I wrote to AloAudio asking them if they could modify my IE800, still waiting for a reply.

Yeah, that would be nice. There has to be someone out there that can mod the IE-800, without buying a whole new setup.

I emailed them last week and received a reply that they are not modding existing IE800s; only the ones that are bought new from them.
