I wonder if the premium is split between Blue Note & AK though - not that it's a justification but just curious.

I suspect the SACD on AP will sound better than these highres e.g. Cannonball's somethin' else...
Too lazy to AB until now...

HD Tracks was selling the blue note collection, I didn't look for the price, but I doubt it's $4000.

Fortunately, all of us have a choice not to buy.

If there is a market, let it be. If not, it won't sell.

I love free market.

Free market, not screw market. Being in a free market does not need to be synonymous with anal intrusion for each new product from AK.

The beauty of free market is there must be willing buyers and willing sellers. If it is not providing what people want (and I don't mean value), it won't sell. If it sells, it is what is wanted, no matter how irrational.

While we can choose not to buy, let's not deny others who want precisely that.

Technically, you can't screw the market, although there might be some consumers who are willing. It's their money, I am not someone who dictates what other wants to sell, or buy.

This is totally a matter open for discussion, but not for this thread. And yes, you can screw the market repeatedly by educating it with the adequate marketing strategies. Want is created by offer in this market.

Ah, if this is not the thread, my apology.

...Nor does it need to be synonymous with your personal vendetta against the AK240, for that matter.

Another boring and tiresome tirade.

I'd hardly call Mims post a tirade, I find it rather concise. ☺

It is if you add all of them up. We get it, you find the AK240 overpriced.

I own the AK240...I have the right to find it too expensive...I had to have it modded to sound as good as it should.

Please do not be insulting, especially when you do not know what tirade means. Just because you bought it does not mean it can not be criticized.

You mean all three one line posts on the matter? Why do you feel threatened? Do you think 6500$ for the Bluenote package is a good deal? Then buy it and block my posts...no need to be aggressive. What is YOUR contribution to this thread I might ask?
