I would like opinions (good or bad) between the Sennheiser HD25-1 II and the Sennheiser HD 598 and maybe the Grado SR225i.
I will be using an Aune T1 and a number of different tubes with them. Right now I have the ATH-M50's and the Koss PortaPro's, and am very happy with both, just have an itch for another. I listen to a wide range of everything except country and rap.
Thanks

If this is for home use rather than portable then skip the HD25 and go over ear for much better comfort.

Good reviews on the HD598's but, sounds silly but not too wild how they look. Wish they were black, but I know that shouldn't be important. I like the idea of a detachable cord. How are the AKG K612 Pro's for comparison?

K612 pro are a redesign of the K601. I can't tell you how different they sound since I haven't used the 601, but according to the headroom graph (below) they're fairly similar. The AKGs are flatter in general and have slightly more sub-bass.
I have the 612 and I'm loving them so far. The cord isn't detachable but feels nice and thick and durable.

One last question (I hope) . How do the Beyerdynamic DT 880 PRO compare to the K612's?

I haven't used them myself, but from what I've seen/read they'd be brighter.

I haven't used the DT880s. I'm in the UK where the K612 pro is £112 and the DT880 is £200.
