Needing some recommendations for a rather inexpensive speaker setup in a medium sized bedroom

Hey there everyone! First off, this is my first post here and I'm glad to be a part of the community now. I've looked here in the past for headphone reviews, but never made an account.

So, as stated, I've decided to set up a small speaker system in my room, and I have absolutely no idea how I'd go about that. The sources of audio would be a computer, phone/ipod, and maybe a television in the future, but not likely. What is all the equipment I would need to do this, and what is the price range I'm looking at? I'd like this to be something with good sound(so probably more than one speaker, including a sub). Thanks in advance for the help, and I look forward to getting to be a bigger part of the community.

Active studio Monitors are an option....I am using some Emotive Airmotive6 active monitors as my computer speakers in a bedroom/desk setup.

Not analytic or harsh sounding at all...Using an old Adcom GFP-750 passive/active pre-amp and a JDS Labs ODAC USB out from my labtop and couldn't be happier with the results.

Just an idea. because it eliminates speaker cables/amp. and lots of good options at reasonable prices.

Thank you :). Studio monitors might actually be the way to go anyways since I make small amounts of music as a hobby and don't yet have any. Thank you for the reply :). This is probably the way I'll end up going
