Distortion with certain audio

So two days ago i bought a pair of Siberia v2 USB heat orange headphones (yes i know they're not the greatest for audio but i got them for gaming purposes. Recently I've started to notice some distortion in certain sounds. I've done some audio tests and they all worked fine at every frequency, i tried listening to 192k audio and downloaded some FLAC songs and i didn't really hear any distortion. Most of the distortion came from youtube/soundcloud (although i did get some with the flac audio). I tried disabling the soundcard and still got it. I used my old turtle beaches that hook up to a 3.5mm and at first i didn't hear any distortion but started to notice it a bit later when i payed more attention.

Today i also tried using my uncles laptop which is much much better than mine and still got distortion on the same songs, i did realize that the only thing that completely got rid of the distortion was turning down my computer volume to 60%. Now what my question is, do you guys think this is a defective headset or is it simple that my source/computers fault i'm hearing distortion when computer audio is set to 100%?

What do these distortions sound like?

slight crackles/static but they're not loud or apparent, at first you wouldn't notice them but once you start listening more you notice them more often. Also, when i listen to really heavy bass they don't happen, mostly mid-tone stuff.

Are these consistent within the same songs?  It sounds like you might just be hearing digital clipping in the recordings themselves.

So far yes, they happen in certain areas of certain songs and even when replaying that part i can hear it. I just did an audio test on the same song with a turtle beach x11 that connects to a 3.5mm and i got some distortion but much less apparent but the quality is also much lower. So basically i have nothing to worry about and just keep the audio on 50-60?
