Different amplification for different Sennheiser headphones questions

I am just getting into hi-fi and have no idea what I am doing. I am about to buy either Sennheiser hd600's, hd650's, or hd700's. For dac/amplification would a schiit modi-vali combo be enough to power any of them? Or should I save my money and get something else? Also would that combo sound any good with either headphone? My price range for an amp/dac combo is about $300-$500. The source leading into the dac will be a macbook. Thanks!

That combo will be fine with either of those headphones.  I think you should just try out that combo for now and upgrade in the future if you ever want to.  There's huge diminishing returns with amps and dacs.

My Modi/Vali work just as well with my HD650's as my HD595's, and that's covering the bases of both high and low impedance. I recommend the Vali highly for the price.

Thanks for the help guys, I ended up getting the hd600's, and wanted to see what they sounding like by themselves before I bought amplification. They sound great alone with my macbook, but I will still be looking into buying the Modi/Vali combo. I will be adding my response to this thread about how it sounds after I purchase and receive the combo.
