HE-60 also measures superbly! Never had a chance to listen to it.. Or.. I had a chance, but a 3 hour drive to a meet..

I have them and they are well worth the drive
It's like the stax 009. And blended with the HE 6.
I am sure they are not flat as the stax but there is
A quality that makes you connect to the music.
And so light on your head.

I think i even read somewhere once some people preferring the baby orpheus over his bigger brother because that one was to analictic sometimes (like u said about the sr009) and the he60 more laidback...
Hope to listen to one one day.. wink.gif
Now back to the also very special he phones...

I love HE500.

^What amp is that?

Also, on another note my HE-5le and HE-500 is impedance matched very well. Measured HE-500 to 38.5 and 38.6. My HE-5le measured at 39.4 and 39.7, but is said to be 25 ohm according to specs.

I have heard about HE-500 measuring like 40 and 60. What numbers do you get for your HE's?

When I measure my amp to around 1 kOhm can I assume it is capacitor coupled?

Hi,
I would like to use the HE500 with balanced cable. Which cable do you recommend?
Thanks

1. Reterminate the stock cable with a 4-pin XLR or
2. Make your own cable using the extra Hifiman connectors or
3. Get a cable from http://forzaaudioworks.com/

As for the he60. I have read that too. I think it is wishfull thinking. As I would own the real one if it was not for the crazy price and hard to fine parts.

For those of you interested in a speaker amp to headphones adapter box, I am offering to build the Robinette v3 box for $94 shipped in you live in continental USA since I have been getting alot of PMs about it. I need atleast 4 more people to sign up for interest to make it possible.

Update: There is enough interest to make it happen, so please PM me if you want one made. I have a few that sent payment already. I am limiting this run to 10 boxes. I will ship international too.

Will you do anything to make the box more safe to use for not so experienced users?
