it's the bold statements that make me love 272 so much - yes the mids/highs of the 272 are great but H300 sounds like a great IEM also , and now that the 272 is discontinued i guess it's a great choice for people who dig this kind of sound

i think the N4 seems like a great upgrade to those wholoved 272
You're welcome! smily_headphones1.gif The 272 is truly a class leading sound on its own. From what I read I guess only the ER4S come close. But I haven't try it myself yet. If only the 272 had removable keeper it'll be a long time keeper. H300 is quite a different sound from 272. Definitely not neutral. But if you're okay with bright sounding phones then I guess you may want to try out the H300. smily_headphones1.gif I think another hybrid which is pretty excellent in vocal will be the ASG2.

I'm experiencing the same thing.

At first, coming from the RE-272, they were super bright.  Now after about a month with these, even with the treble spike, I've adjusted to the sound and actually quite enjoy the treble presence and don't even notice the spike really.  And DAT BASS.  Sooo satisfying....  I feel guilty about how much I've been neglecting my RE-272s and even my full sized headphones as of late.

I've also adjusted to the mid presentation.  They're clear and resolving, and by no means are they actually thin or recessed.  It's only in comparison to the mid-forward RE-272 (or a flatter signature) that I even noticed.  I'm really enjoying these and amazed I was able to get them at this price on pre-sale.

I received my Noble4 and I like them a lot, but there is something about the H-300... the sound signatures are so different, but I prefer H-300 more. My ColorflyC3 and C&CBH amp never sounded better. Renewed my interest in my DX-50 also. Unbelievable for the price.

how sensitive are these compared to, oh say, TF10?

These are not sensitive. Pairing with DX50 I didn't detect any hiss.

sweet, that's exactly what I was asking about. The hiss is pretty audible on my TF10s through my Fiio e07k

Iam kinda looking for quite some time for a universal iem that kinda gives me the detail level of a dt880/600 on the go.

Iam going back and forth between Ety E4RS , ATH IM02 , DBA02 , Dunu DN2k and the H300s.

What to do guys, will the H300 fit in ?

Speaking on details level solely, the H300 is very impressive. Can even outweigh the RE272.

Well, Dunu Dn-2k is overall a bit better than H300. I'd go ahead and get it if you don't mind not having a removable cable :p (that's the only thing that stopped me from buying it)

Is this statement based on A/B testing, memory or just what people say ?

Just asking because in the last posted impressions in the Dunu thread are some mixed informations posted, let me quote:

I pre-ordered the H300s and heard it and to my tastes, the DN2K is the better IEM. I still stand firm that "the H300s win in bass, clarity, detail retrieval and treble extension". The H300 clarity is pretty insane to my ears, which help in the detail retrieval and treble extension. The bass also matches the hype it's getting and its wonderful.

With that, I still sold the H300s, and consolidated the DN2K as my sole IEM, and definitely don't regret it.

Basically just reviews, I've yet to hear either of the two. My h-300 is still being shipped.

My vote would be for the H-300. Very unique sound signature. LOVE IT.

Well I'm just saying in every review dn-2k basically beats h300 in most aspects and doesn't have the nasty 8k spike
post #329 of 593

Reviews also mention that H-300 is stronger in bass and detail retrieval, which might be just what some people are looking for...

Point is that reviews are still subjective at the end of the day, they are really meant to inform about what to expect so that a person can make their own decisions.

In the end, I decided to go with the ATH IM02. Thanks for your input guys. Will keep the H300 on the radar :)
