Looking to improve sound on ASUS G750JH laptop with Beyerdynamic dt770 pro 80 headphones, looking into all alternatives

Greetings!

A friend suggested to visit Head-fi forums regarding my questions. After reading a few threads I realized that everything seems quite personalized based on equipment, preferences, etc. So I decided to ask in a new thread. As mentioned in title, I have a ASUS G750JH laptop with Beyerdynamic dt770 pro 80 headphones, and I have these plugged directly into the laptop. As you can imagine, the sound quality is nothing to brag about, and additionally there is constant interference that produces a hissing sound on the right headphone.

I am looking both into USB sound cards and USB DAC headphone amplifiers. I am looking for quality, so not intending to limit myself with a price, but an indication would be approximately 200-500 $.

Some details:

- I listen to electronic house and techno, but even more to dark/drone ambient music.

- I am using Musicbee, majority is FLAC files. System: Windows 8 64 bit

My desk is not too big, so I am trying to avoid huge installments. I would prefer USB charging, but am of course open to battery as well.

I am also very new to this technically, and I don't really even understand what DAC means, but I try to soak up as much as I can of the info on these forums.

I hope you can suggest something! :)

Maybe look at this pretty similar thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/704070/soundcard-dac-for-beyerdynamic-dt-770-80ohm

Do you need the dac/amp to be portable?

Thanks, I will look into those suggestions!

Originally it doesn't have to be portable. However I am afraid of one thing: at the moment the sound quality from Samsung Galaxy is so good compared to my computer that I don't feel the need to enhance it. But if it does wonders for the sound coming from my laptop, I assume I will feel the loss when listening to the android phone.

I've been reading about this one: http://www.leckertonaudio.com/products/uha-6s-mkii/ it seems to be overall pretty good, but I don't know if there may be any issues related to beyerdynamic or anything else I haven't thought of.

Save a few dollars and get a FiiO E17 DAC/Amp, $130.

You can use the DAC and amp with the laptop and just the amp part with the phone.

The DAC part can be used with the phone as well. I know the e17 works with the galaxy s4 at least, which is very neat.
