Wait... is kostaszag on the latest of latest Lollipop 5.1.1 or the buggy 5.0.2?

I had the 5.0.2 until yesterday. Last night I upgraded to 5.1.1. Everything still working alright.

According to danba 's list here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3XYy1FuzDUeX2t4TmJRbVZsaVE/edit all Xperia Z phones should be compatible with USB-dacs. Maybe something else is wrong, perhaps your dac, or OTG cable.

Same dac, cable worked for me before Lollipop update, it is the OS problem.

Is your phone rooted?  If so, maybe try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tauruslabs.usbhostcheck

Tried it. Rooted my Z1 just for this, but it is not working. Clearly too old for Lollipop anyway.

Well, since you have rooted it anyway, why dont you just downgrade to Kitkat? you wouldnt miss anything important.

Not commuting lately, so kinda undecided if I should wait for update which is coming out very soon even for Z1 or downgrade...

Anyone have tried installed & used 'USB Audio Player Pro' in ZX2, I've read it supports 'folder play', but not sure it support 'play by artist and genie' or not, or any recommendation of other popular media player for android supporting the 'play by artist, genie, and folder, and/or music(all)' feature while supporting up to 32bit files/DSD native playback capability at the same time?

I've been using the ZX2 for quite a while, everything fine but the native media player only plays the album one by one. It cannot do the 'Play by Artist', 'Play by Genie', 'Play by Folder', 'Play all (music)', since while long press 'Artist' or 'Genie' or 'Folder' only allowing 'throw', 'create shortcuts' & 'add to playlists' to choose from, & lack of support of these features seems like even worse than the obsoleted iBasso DX100, or I'm stupid enough not knowing how to setup using the zx2 native media player. BTW, I don't use 'Playlist' function at all since it's quite time-consuming to create fulfilling my various needs for my daily use, especially reading 'create playlist' in ZX2 is quite clumsy so i'd rather ignore it.

Welcome for any comments and/or recommendations & many thanks in advance.

Decided to purchase this app. Overall very happy with it except for it's constant need to authenticate. I'm using a dedicated S3 stripped down to it's core and was hoping to avoid having to leave WiFi and/or Mobile Data on. If I turn them off it eventually stops with the message unable to authenticate purchase.

Has anybody got around this??

Yes, only 2 times is a internet connection required (first run and again a 2nd time) but after this play store authentication you never need internet access again, only if you want to update UAPP.

Thanks. Gotta find some time this weekend to play with my new HA-2 and this app. I was going to stick with Hiby but I figured if you pay for it it must be better!! Plus Hiby was doing some weird things with my album tags.

whoa, I was getting this too with my .aiff files, tons of duplicate file names in folder view.  May have to uninstall and reinstall the new version.

Now if I can only get files above 48khz to stop popping and clicking at low levels like they are vinyl rips??  Tried the most often suggested settings like Force 1 packet, usb tweak 1, and lower buffer size.  These did not cure.

Anyone have any other thoughts?

I am running Samsung Note 5 (Android 5.0) connected to Oppo HA2 amplifier, keep hearing these popping and cracking for my FLAC files as well. normal 320kps mp3s do not seem to exhibit these pops and cracking.
