Hello all

I am going to buy an Ipod touch for a better music experience soon and wish to order the headsets together with it.
These will be my first player and more than 10$ IEMs.
I tried moving browsing around the forum but I find myself baffled by the terms hence I request some suggestions from you all.
I am not even sure that these IEMs will suit my taste.

Other suggestions regarding music players are also welcome.

I have heard that the following are good but not sure whether they fit what I am looking for or not.
I like thumps but that's not all what I want. I like to hear the detail as much.

Please add your suggestions.
1. VSonic GR06
2. Shure Se215
Device: Smartphone / Ipod Touch

Type of music I listen to: Folk Metal / Trailer / Rock

Where I listen : Gym / Commuting in Public Transport, yes the noisy ones

I listen to music for as long as 3-4 hours so I'd like them to be comfortable.

I work on a merchant vessel and so not as free to browse through the forum as I'd like to be due to data costs so kindly excuse me if I missed a similar thread.

Cheers
Saral

I would prefer the GR06. Its been a long long time since ive tried them so i dont rly have much insight i can give about them. SE215 bass is a bit muddy to me.

For commuting and gym however, the SE215 has better fit and isolation. The earhook that it has, however, is a bit annoying for some people though. People with smaller years (like me) tend to have the earhooks not stay on very well. So if your running at the gym, they might be flying all over the place.

Thanks Cotnijoe

So it seems that GR06 will suit me better.
I was reading another thread related to GR02
http://www.head-fi.org/t/609397/im-done-vsonic-gr02-bass-edition-vs-gr06
They say that GR02 are tad better, much cheaper than the 06.
Will they suit metal or are they too bassy for them? Any ideas?

Hi,

You should also consider Yamaha EPH-100. They are a good match for the genres you've listed.

Best Luck!

I think EPH-100 are a bit out of my budget. I do have my eye on them for some time now.

I should research more I think.

Thanks guys ^_^

Hey all

Been reading a lot and wish to decide between VSonic Gr06 and Sony XB90ex for the genres listed above.

I am a newbie and still boggled by all the terms and to be frank I am not even sure that these are the right IEMs to look at.
I live in India and costs here are roughly double than US. I wish to be careful as I'll be spending this much money for the first time and I want to keep them for a long haul. I wish to carefully choose a DAP after these.
I usually listen to
Epic: Hans Zimmer, Two Steps from Hell
Folk Metal: Eluveitie, Korpiklaani.
