Help audio skipping on my setup, need another experienced user.

Just got my HD650 fully repaired from sennheiser today. My setup is basicly PC-> USB -> Benchmark DAC1 USB -> Sennheiser HD650 w/ALO Audio Jenalabs 18AWG Cryo Cable

I'm using foobar2000 I tried default directsound & WASABI.

I get intermittent audio skipping I can see I'm losing the audio on the left channel, and the weird part is that if I swap cable to stock it doesnt seem to happen but at the same time I listened with the ALO cable for over 3+ hours today with no issues and they are not damaged and almost indestructible too...

No idea what is causing this and I dont want to toss the cable aside like last time I paid almost 400$ for them and they arent damaged... ALO Audio wants 80$ just to look at them but I feel like it will be wasted money.

Anyhow if anyone ever experienced something like this let me know, its very intermittent and can last only a few seconds and then goes away and might not happen for a while. I can hear the sound losing in the left channel or going quiet or doing some skipping and then it comes back as if nothing. Sennheiser even replaced the whole left headphone to brand new.

Computer is modern corei7 with 16gb ddr3 with SSD on Windows 7

If you have any suggestions of tests or alternative I can go through to pin point the possible cause it would be great appreciated getting those audio bug is destroying my musical experience...

Sounds like short in the cable. If it happens just with the ALO but not the stock, thats the issue.

I have had cables and jacks that simply didn't quite like each other. The only thing I could figure out was that the plug was on the low side of the size spec and and jack was on the high side of the size spec, and there was just enough slack between them to cause an intermittent issue. When I plugged the same cable into a different device, it worked fine. When I plugged a different cable into the first device, it worked fine. But the two together was a problem. *shrugs*

Yeah that's the kind of thing that would annoy me, its probably going to cost me 100$ just to send them the cable, if it doesnt fix the issue I'm going to be pretty mad. To be honest to pay a cable that much and having a problem with it I'll probably never do business with them again and it should have lifetime warranty (unless It had been damaged by the owner).

Why not just build your own cable? Also, a lot of them do come with lifetime warranties, so double check on that.
