dac for beyerdinamic dt880 pro 250 ohm

hi,

I have the beyerdinamic dt880 (250 ohm) for a few months and I recently bought the fiio e12 amp.

Most of the time I use it in my laptop for all kinds of music.

I am new to this and I heard that it is recommended to buy a dac to use it with the laptop.

Do you recommend me to buy a dac or is e12 amp enough?

Fiio E17. Great DAC for the price. Portable. Built-in equalizer. Dark background. No hiss. I'm using it with my DT770's.

thanks for the advice, but fiio e17 is an amp + dac. I already have an amp - fiio e12. It would be waste to buy another amp.

I just need a seperate dac to combine with my e12 amp. can you recommend me jast a dac that would fit  my amp?

As far as I know, every DAC has an amp inside, correct me if I'm wrong.

Think about:

Audinst HUD Mx-1

Audioengine D1

Yulong U100

Fostex HP-A3

some dacs are just dacs, no amp included. centrance dacport lx and cypher labs algorhythm solo are a few examples.

im using the dacport lx with my dt880 250's, with a vintage stereo receiver acting as the amp. sounds great, definitely an upgrade from my fiio e07k.  Ive never heard the e12, so i don't know how it might sound with a separate dac.

thanks for the help. can someone suggest me a good seperate dac? my budget is 50 - 150 dollars.

You must get a DAC. That's for sure. Because onboard sound cards are pretty bad. DAC is important to get a clean audio. I still think the Fiio E17 for you. And Audinst MX-1. You can use your E12 with these. I don't know about stand-alone DAC's. CrocCap gave some examples.

Take a look at this: http://www.headfonia.com/the-upgrade-fiio-e17-alpen/

E17 is superior to the E10.

As the E12 is a more powerful amplifier then the E17's, your just going to end up using the E17 as a DAC only.

Return the E17

DAC Destroyer USB DAC, $50-$60

Hifimediy Sabre U2 USB DAC, $57+shipping

Schiit Modi USB DAC, $99

I think you can combine them. With this:

This is one of the accesories in the E17 box.
