Anyone modded an SR-007 Mk2 port to be like the Mk1?

Hi All

I have the SR-007 MK2.5 and having only heard the MK1 for a quick demo don't know the difference in SQ.

But I think I read the MK2s has the port blocked up? Is this right, and if so where is it?

Can it be unblocked?

Will it increase the damage / fart factor when I take them off?

Real curious about this subject, though I do love the sound of the MK2.5s as is. Maybe it

is a myth, and they can't be improved?

Sorry, I got that wrong. The MK2.5s has the port OPEN. So can it be blocked up to resemble

the MK1? And where is it, how difficult is it to do, bearing in mind it took me an hour

to get the cups back onto the ear speaker case!

You can try the easy way to see if you'll like the change first.

So how did you find the change in SQ?

Can you describe it? And did it increase the chance of Stax Fart?

It basically gets rid of the bloated mid bass hump, which made things sound a little muddy and uncontrolled.

Yep, lots of Stax fart, they rarely farted with the ports open, it's not really a big deal for me though.

It doesn't take very long to perform and reverse the mod, so go for it!
