muffled sounding earphones (damaged)

Thread Starter

i own a pair of westone um1s and have been using them for the past 2 years (warranty is gone and all), recently i noticed the left earbud has become incredibly muffled, and i dont mean the 'muffled' is commonly used to describe a pair of earphones' general sound...its almost like someone put a pillow over the driver, because the right side sounds fine.

i've been using them almost everyday for the past 2 years, kept it in a case most of the time when out, but at home just left it on my desk, so no idea what happened to them, only that there are visible bubbles inside the left earpiece, and not in the acrylic itself

does anyone know why this has happened? or if this has happened to you too?

Remove the tip and use one of the little ear wax cleaning tools to make sure the tube isn't blocked with wax.
