The Xiaomi Pistons Thread - Page 59

To add to the last post, I'm primarily wanting a direct comparison to my 3 favorite budget in ears: monoprice 9927, sony mh1c, and soundmagic e30. Your input is appreciated, as I'm debating buying yet ANOTHER bang for your buck Iem, and don't want to walk away feeling like I threw another 30 bucks in the trash.

That's a fair point, and you bring up another thought that has been on my mind about similar threads. p.s. I also own the MH1C and E30. I ordered the pistons last week - will let you know

I think the price-point draws out the hype. There's obviously going to be a larger audience for a sub-$50 IEM, but the vocabulary we use when reviewing them is still the same.

I'll never forget ericp10 describing the very much hyped Audio Technica CKM500 (could be had for $60, I believe):

Let's face it, in the grand scheme of IEMs, reviews put the CKM500 where it belonged

Hi guys

I just ordered these earphones and I was wondering if you lot could tell me which comply foam (or similar type product) will fit these? They're quite expensive so don't want to get the wrong size, I actually got the http://www.amazon.com/Original-Xiaomi-Earphone-Headphone-Smartphone/dp/B00HUNUOJW which I assume this is the correct thread for?

Cheers!

Thanks Pal :)

And yeah I guessed you were, lol.  I've also seen you on Android Central :)  I'm glad you post elsewhere as your excellent reviews would be wasted being confined just in the Note II XDA section!

In regards to the foam tips, I've noticed that a few pages back a couple of people have suggested which ones they use, but they are both different types hence the confusion on which Comply Tips I need to get.   I'm guessing the T-500 ones I currently use with my BlueBuds X will not fit properly.

Comply T400 is the way to go.  I thought T500 will be bigger, but turned out to be not the case. Here are the pictures of T500 next to T400.  The tip used on Pistons is T400.

Don't know if it's necessary to have the model with wax filters, but I only had TSX available.  Also, after a quick listening - the sound is a bit crispier and bass sounds more detailed (probably due to a better isolation).

Thank you so much for going to the effort of helping me with that!  Much appreciated :)

Looking forward to receiving the earphones, although shipping to the UK will probably take quite a long time!

Anyone ordered from ibuygou recently and received the 2.1's (i.e. with the metal clip)?

They DESTROY the Monoprice in clarity, and have a fully working mic+controls with Android on top of it.

They are comparable to the Sony and Soundmagic in value/quality.

Yes, someone said that a few pages back.

Be careful while ordering online.

There are many fakes around.

Order from reputable sellers.

Cheers
