Yeah, the cable is pretty darn short compared to a lot of my other iem's, a good 21cm shorter then my other iems.

That's basically the only gripe I have on these. I've been looking to get an extension cable, but a lot of them are really long.

For iPhone, the middle button is the only one that works;

Press and hold to activate Siri

Single click and you'll stop or play music (depending on whether music is currently playing)

Double click and you'll move to the next track

Single click will also end a phone call

Single click will answer an incoming call

The mic on the cable also works during calls.

On cable length; it is shorter than many others but I actually like it. It's still long enough to put the phone in my pants pocket. It doesn't catch on many items now that it's shorter.

Got my Pistons 2.1 IF edition today.  Will post detailed pictures later tonight.

It came packaged in a small black suede draw string pouch with IF 2014 Product Design Award logo.  The packaging carton box is all white.  The shirt clip also has IF 2013 Product Design Award logo on it.  Eartips inside of the case labeled S/M/L like in the original 2.1.  Also, it has the same L/R label on strain relief and a ring below R.  Has the same chocolate smell with a cable winding insert.  The same textured feel to the touch (metal finish), the same rear port opening and pinhole port opening by the nozzle.  Worked the same on my Note 2 (play/pause/call, volume +/-, track skip next/prev with double/triple click, and long press to start Google NOW).  One big change is in color.  It's a few shades lighter, closer to light yellow/whitish.  I don't remember exactly how my original 2.1 sounded out of the box, but in comparison to the original one now (which has quite a number of burn-in hours), the bass of IF version has a bit more quantity.  Also, I felt like overall the tuning has a bit more clarity.  I tried with the same set of large eartips, the same source (X5) and the same FLAC file.  Not sure, maybe my mind is playing a trick on me after a long day of work.  Either way, I'm running a pink noise loop for an hour or two to see if the sound will settle down.  In theory, it should be an identical design/tuning with a different repackaging and a bonus draw string case.  Shirt clip with IF label was a news to me (maybe I missed it mentioned before), and brighter shade of color was a total surprise.

Will post later detailed pictures, and let you know if I still hear any sound difference.  Oh, this unit arrived from Zhengnan's Shop on amazon (verified original seller).  For some reason, their price is up to $32 + $4 shipping.  I have no idea.  I see 2 other sellers, one with fake Pistons (for $20+) and another one for $29 + $5 shipping.  I thing they are finally catching on to how popular these became.  If I'm not mistaken, when you order it - they will send you an original version.  I received my IF version as a review unit and had to ask for it specifically.  So, don't assume if you place an order they will send you IF special edition version.

v2.1 has the shirt clip.

Eartips inside of the case labeled S/M/L - v2.0 has musical notes instead.

It has the L/R label on strain relief and a ring below R - v2.0 only has the ring.

My original post with Pistons 2.1 pictures/review is buried somewhere in this thread, so just refer to the original pictures in my review posted on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2671888

After a few hours of burn in, sound settled down.  2.1 IF version is identical to original 2.1 version.

Here are the pictures of Pistons 2.1 IF Edition (I tried to capture all the updates)

Which tip are you using on the 2.1 in the picture above, Twister?

I love the Pistons 2.1. Out of my Ibasso DX50 with Flacs. Even out of the box, it feels like im listening music in a luxurious car sound system. I'm using Comply tips Tx Series 200, comfortable and isolate very well!

Those were knock off hybrid "sony" tips I got with one of the cheap Bidenuo headphones.  Pretty much, any Sony hybrid eartip should work.  I just ordered now S/M/L pair from ebay for $0.99.  Once I receive and confirm it, will post a link as well.  But if you search on ebay, you will see similar ones like I have in that picture.
