Ok, I'll make my own comparison later with Havi, T1E, KZ etc when I am home in Oct.

Remember that it's my top ten, the KC06 didn't even make it in there. The Piston are the cheapest ones on there as well :beerchug:

Ah.... thanks @peter123  for the clarification. That really put things in perspective. I didn't realize you have way many more in your arsenals. Would you please adopt me as your brother, please?

My pistons aren't that far off the SQ of my GR07BE and beats it for sub bass quantity

Ah yes, GR07BE is in the same league as IM70 in terms of pricing. I think we have now arrived to the era where price has become a poor indicator for quality, that's why users' impressions, reviews and votes through forums like Headfi are playing more and more important roles.

It largely is a placebo effect, at least when it comes to headphones. That doesn't mean there isn't variation between pairs or that very slight changes can occur, but people who say something gets a whole new sound are misguided. Just listening to two different IEMs can change your perspective. IE, if you're listening to one IEM you may not like another IEM as much until you give your ears a chance to rest and vice versa. What I would suggest is just listen to music as you normally do and give yourself a couple weeks to get used to it. If you find it gets better as it goes, great. If you find it doesn't change much and you still like it, also great. Just don't expect a sound you dislike to become instantly good or anything. The most important thing is that YOU like it.

Really? I didn't find this to be the case at all, but I only heard the Pistons for a short time. The GR07 has a lot more control and detail down low than I remember the Pistons having, but again, I don't have them to listen to.

Did you do the remove filter mod? It improves the bass control by a fair margin. I also said bass quantity

I don't think it was modded, but I've only listened to a pair briefly and didn't get more than a day to spend with them. I thought they sounded great for the price and did a nice job for a bassy phone, but not too close to the BE in SQ. I haven't A/Bed them though.

Been the same routine for me since last week. GR07BE on the way to work, pistons pretty much all day at work then GR07BE for the journey home. So sort of like an extended AB.

Hey, I'm a complete newb. My last earbuds were meelectronics m6. Would you guys recommend Xiaomi Piston 2 ($25) or Velodyne vPulse ($30)? Vpulse seems to be the better reviewed item in the big review thread but I have an android phone so I'm also considering the xiaomi piston. Thanks.

You might have gotten fakes.  Where did you order from?

Impossible mine would be a fake as i order it from my country's mi sites. http://store.mi.com/my/item/3143300009 here. But i tried it after 36 hour it seems better. But the seal is still bad, i tried the foam tips. My right ear always cant get a proper seal which cause the environment sound to enter right ear while I'm on stock tips. I tried it with the foem tips. It's still the same. Since i bought 2 pair. I tried the second pair to try on. The seal on both ear was completely sealed which was on stock ear tips too. Do you think this is a defect? Oh, mine comes in the condition of 8/10 i would say. When i receive it. There is scratch on the aluminium body and the cable near the 3.5mm the cloth kind of tearing off.

It's really weird that one product achieve seal while the other not when it is the same product. It might as well be a defect. And for a new pair to come in 8/10 condition is not good i guess.

What would you do if you were me? As for warranty i think there is a lot of hassle to go through :/
