Just a suggestion: You know the Sony MH1? Its a good IEM with a horrible cable.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Headset-MH1-EC250-adaptor-For-Sony-Lt27i-ST18i-WT19i-C6603-LT36i-st25i-Z1-White-/121256051311?pt=Bluetooth_Wireless_Products&hash=item1c3b6c826f

MH1 + EC250 for $16.50

It is like MH1 for about $10. And you will be able to use MH1 with your phone without the adapter.

Just a couple questions.  Has everyone who ordered theirs from PenonAudio got the free extra 3 pairs of Sony tips I think they are?  I'm flopping between ordering from PenonAudio ($29.50USD) or iBuyGou ($23USD).  Since the extra tips do fit differently it will save me searching/buying other tips if the stock tips don't fit me well.

Do the volume buttons work on the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Sony Xperia Z2 (North American models)?  I know the description says "compatible with Android phones" but those familiar with Android phones know that not all Android phones are equal and there's isn't a "standard android phone jack".  I read earlier in this thread that someone had Vol+/- buttons changes tracks instead of volume.  I want to replace the utterly crap bundled earbuds of my S3 but I need all 3 buttons functional.  My friend just got a Z2 and it doesn't even include earbuds so he wants fully functioning buttons too.

I ordered the iF version from Penonaudio and I recieved the 3 extra tips, don't know if they also provide you with 3 extra tips when buying the 'normal' version.

so i've just received my Xiaomi Mi In-Ear Headphones IF Commemorative Edition

when i plug them into my computer they sound awesome.

but when i plug them into my phone they sound kinda weird, i dunno how to explain this, "dull" may be the right word?

like, i hear the music/beat/sound pretty good but i can barely hear the singing/vocals...

BUT, when i press the middle button of the controller (the play/pause button) they sound normal just like on the computer

can u guys help me? what may be the problem?

i ordered from Xiaomi website btw.

Is your phone a smart phone? Or a regular cell phone? This could also be the problem you're having with your xiaomi pistons. Most IEM's with MIC and other controls are only made for smart phones for there onboard features. While IEM's with just the plug in audio cables (and no MIC and other controls) are just to hear music.

I'm glad you ordered the converter cable from ebay. It would be good in your case.

Man these things are awesome. Ordered mine from boat2014 off Amazon, they're 100% legit.

First impressions were:

- Wow so much bass, very uncontrolled all over the place

- Why must the mids be recessed? These would sound amazing with more forward mids!

- The soundstage is truly awesome

- Treble is clear and sparkly, but could be slightly more refined

Impressions after burning in for around 6 hours:

- Bass is so much cleaner and tighter, much more controlled

- Mids seem to be more forward than before, perhaps I'm just used to the sound already

- The soundstage has definitely grown

- The sound signature in general has come forward a lot more, less laid-back

Still missing sweet forward mids, if these possessed those these would be truly a killer pair of IEMs

If you mod them
By removing the screens and pulling the foam out
The mids improve nicely

I love my Pistons, but if you want to add another to your collection with the "sweet forward mids" you're looking for? Try getting the Ivery IS-1 (or Liberty 1's).

Now I have 2 favorites.....my Pistons and Ivery IS-1 (Liberty 1). Everything you lack with the Pistons you can get with the Liberty 1's.

And while the Pistons has awesome controls for smart phones, the Liberty 1's has a converter switch control for a broad selection of sound sources besides smart phones.

Here's some PIX!

-Hope you enjoyed the PIX!

I retried the IS-1 yesterday. The mids are recessed the same as the Pistons. Nice for the price though.

Did you burn them in at least over 60 hours time?

Vocals open up better than the Pistons after this time period. It is necessary to do so. I have an older pair vs. my new pair. The mids are totally recessed on my new pair compared to the older one which was burned-in already prior to buying them from a mom and pop headphone store.

Hopefully, with daily use you could notice the difference.
