But judging by the colour, it's a black Piston Paperback Edition 2.0.

They come in both black and white, and are half the price of the Pistons.

So it has a Copper diaphragm instead of Beryllium diaphragm - http://www.amazon.com/xiaomi-Piston-earphone-paperback-LATEST/product-reviews/B00JAFYAQG

The cable isn't as good too - although the remote control design is much better. All 3 buttons on the same side.

Yes, it has a regular silicone cable. However, something I noticed is that the Pistons 1.0 has Kevlar (or nylon, or whatever) throughout the entire cable instead of just from the jack to the remote like in the 2.0. I wonder why they left this out...it could've done wonders for overall cable durability.

i think the original pison v1 does not have a vent or what they refer to as the "dual dampening system".

it looks like these have a different nozzle filter instead of the metal mesh used on the piston 2.0/2.1/IF.

I just purchased these headphones. Are they most likely fakes? If so, can I open a complaint or similar if they are?

On a slightly unrelated note, what is the difference between a Piston 1 and a Piston 2.

They're suspicious since they don't post actual images of the product they're selling, just the photos taken feom the original website. There's enough reason to be suspicious or cautious, so just head over to penonaudio.com.

As for the 1.0 vs. 2.0, user bhazard has stated that their sound signature is similar if not the same, except that the 2.0 is clearer and more refined than the 1.0.

Hi all.
First post for me.
After reading a lot on hear about the pistons,I took the plunge and purchased some 2.1 IF edition from penonaudio.
They arrived yesterday and they even throwed in a pack of Sony hybrid buds the red core ones free of charge.

Boy these are great earphones.much better than my sennheiser cx300.
I am hearing new instruments all time.

Consult the box. Everything you need to know will be there. There is a visual manual for placing them back.

Note: it's the same way you took them out the first time.

Thanks. I didn't think to look in the box as all the text was in Chinese.

The key to store it back, first start by placing earbuds, 3.5mm plug, and in-line remote inside.  Next, wrap the thicker part of the cable (the one between remote and plug, cloth covered part) making sure it goes all the way inside, and last wrap the thinner cables (the one from remote to earbuds, rubbery coated cables).  But word of advice - go to amazon and search for "earphone case" and get one for $2-$5.  Constant winding of the cable using Xiaomi's included insert and pulling earbuds in and out of there will affect longevity of your headphones.  It's nice for a display, but not practical for everyday use.  Get one of those cheap clamshell earphone cases, and enjoy your Pistons!

Oh really? I appreciate your sarcasm Twister, but I have been answering questions as they come. What, so you expect me, the guy who started this f'g hype train to just f'k all and ignore these people? Hey, they asked; I answered. I don't see how that would come off as spamming. Your move.
