Sorry. I don't want to just try them. I want to know how they compare directly to the Bass Colours to see if they will have what I'm looking for.

But I think you should definitely try the Bass Colours. They are the best bass emphasized IEMs (and better than some headphones) I have ever heard to suit my tastes. They different from other phones because the center frequency for the boost is lower down near/in the sub bass region, no upper bass emphasis, no mid-bass bleed, and the mids are not really recessed much. So if you listen to classic rock that doesn't dig deep (99% doesn't), you might not even notice that the bass is there. But put on some EDM, and POW! biggrin.gif

Even if the seller's name is Xiaomi, you can never guarantee that it is the real deal, because Xiaomi never ships outside of China.

Well it has already shipped so too late for that. I also found an article for determining if it is fake or not. I will report back once i get them.

Don't know if it's necessary to have the model with wax filters, but I only had TSX available.  Also, after a quick listening - the sound is a bit crispier and bass sounds more detailed (probably due to a better isolation).

Hi again

I received these earphones today so will be testing them out later and getting back to this thread in the next few days.  in the meantime I have tried putting the T400 tips on them.  While they fit, the chamber does extend above the earphone canal a bit... Is this normal?  Are the TSX shorter thereby not extending past that point?

Also, what is that little hole at the start of the chamber?  Will it matter if I push the T-400s up the way covering that as to avoid having the bit sticking out the top?

It seems wrong doing it that way, and the T-400 are just a bit too long.  If the TX versions are shorter then that's a perfect fit.  Hopefully pushing these standard T-400s up over the little hole thingy doesn't affect sound quality.

I also ordered a pair from this website http://www.xiaomi-tech.de/product_info.php?products_id=10&MODsid=8555c0393964cab6daafe7b1b184283a

Not sure if they are the official distributor in Germany. Would you mind sharing the link to the article for determining whether it is fake or not?

That's what got me confused at first as well. The website looked trustworthy though. Maybe they just forgot to change the picture.
I ordered through ebay from them and they have a 1 month refund option. If it's a fake, I'll just send them back.

I'll post some pictures once I get them.

Just received the IF version today.....very quick shipping from Penon Audio. Very impressed with the packaging and design....the sound is to my ears very crisp and the soundstage quite wide......a great value and I recommend them highly.

They are really amazing for the price. They rival every pair of iems I own, and I have quite a few that cost much more.

I just got the dunu dn-1000 in and have been jamming it all day. MSRP is approximately 200 give or take, and after listening to these all day I gotta, admit that while the dn-1000 has characteristics that beat the Pistons, the same can be said about the Pistons having better qualities.

This is just my opinion SO FAR... It IS NOT a final conclusion.

Pistons-better bass, less harsh treble, a more consumer friendly sound, less fatiguing, controls and mic for Android

DN-1000-better frequency response, better build quality, more accessories, better detail, better separation of different sounds

What's funny is that so far it's a toss up between a 20 dollar Iem, and something that costs 10 times as much...

Hey guys, anyone ever bought the Paperback version of the Pistons?

They've been recently updated to now have a dual damping system like the new Pistons. I'd really like to know if anyone has reviewed them alongside the Pistons, since they'd be interesting to purchase for comparison. That, and my dad is planning to buy a pair of the iF edition for my sister. Check it out here:

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that the Paperbacks have 2 colors now?

Seems like they got rid of the metal enclosure and beryllium driver? It might not be the same great price/performance that the regular piston 2.0/2.1 is.

Well, they are cheaper than the original Pistons, at 49 RMB instead of 99. But then they wouldn't have that Dragon-slayer power like the Pistons do.
