New Marantz SA8005 - WINDOWS DRIVER BROKEN! - Page 2

Could someone send me the working driver too :)     please please  :) as I can not get any response except a automated reply from marantz :(

Darryl

I tried the usa site and uk and the driver is the same from 12-12. and doesn't work yet::(

Just got off phone with a US rep, she said they know of the problem and thats they need to update the website's with the new driver's (old driver says its from dec 2012). she also said the US person in charge of the problem is gone today and won't be back till tomorrow and she does not know when they will get new drivers but that they are working on it.

so we will see :( anyway    she heard the Asian driver was working but I dont think I'm going to download that 1 LOL.

Well folks, the saga seems to be over, thanks to mpcat.  All users who reported a problem are now up and running, no thanks to Marantz USA.  We can now sit back and evaluate/enjoy the SA8005 as it was designed to perform.  I'm listening to my high resolution files now on my Win PC using JRiver 19.  As I expected, it is a fine sounding machine and provides a lot of functionality that would otherwise cost substantially more with a separate CD/SACD player and high end DAC.  Let the SQ reviews begin!

I hope somewhere along the line someone can get their hands on both the SA8005 and the Oppo 105D for comparison.

I was all set to get one of these SA8005 units to play my SACDs on (and return the Oppo 105) to duty as a blu ray player, then Oppo decides they are going to support streaming DSD.  You have to love it when a company offers you an "upgrade" like this for free.

I do have the oppo 103 in my HT setup which is : NAD T-758 + Oppo 103 + Polk RTiA7's speakers + Adcom 5503 amp

my SA8005 SACD is in my 2 channel listening/computer room which uses a Vincent SA-31 Pre amp + Vincent SP-331 Amp + PSB Speakers

I think the Sa8005 sounds better so far but that is hooked up to better equipment. I have about 20 SACD and most are the hybrid that can do 5.1 so Pink Floyd's DSM and Wish u were here sound pretty cool in 5.1 in my HT set-up but sound really awesome in my 2 channel setup through the SA8005.

If your using your 105 in a HT setup I'd keep. Now the 103 only has hdmi outs, and the SA8005 only has your analog outs. so their different in that respect.

The Reason I bought the Marantz was I wanted a SACD player for my 2 channel setup as I don't get to use the HT set-up very often  because others are always camped out in there :(

Would love a copy of that driver! I just ordered the SA8005 myself . ..

I looked on their website (usa) and it now has the correct driver to download, if it doesn't work, pm me a email and I with get it out to you :)

Thanks - really appreciate it and wish you did not have to go through all the pain of being the FIRST to discover and deal with it!

mpcat and amham had aready posted about it when my problem showed up, and thanks to them 2 we all got the fix quickly :)

Ithink the just uploaded a old driver cause the date on it was like 2012. the new driver on the website now has a date of dec 2013 so I'm sure its the corecct one now, but just in case let me know if its not working and I get it to you asap :)

Unbelievably, I think it is still the OLD driver...

Well, it looks like the new driver given the date and size of the 64 bit version.

Someone here was kind enough to send me the working driver (thanks again). On my laptop with 32-bit Win7 the 32-bit driver works perfectly, but on my 64-bit machine, with the 64-bit driver, I can't get Jriver 19 to output higher than a 48k sample rate. I have the output column in the DSP menu set to "no change" for all the inputs. Is anyone else using the 64-bit driver with success? Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks.

Did you ever get your JRiver working?  As stated I have been working OK with JR19 and the 8005.

I did get it working. Turned out it was a USB isolator I was using to eliminate humming was limiting bandwidth. Removed the isolator, now all is well.
