Grado SR325i DIY mod

So I decided to mod an old pair of Grado SR325i I had for which the cable broke. List of mods:

- Removal of buttons on grills.

- Putting in female mono 1/8" female jacks inside the cups.

- Custom 6ft cardas cable: 1/4" furutech male jack to 2 x 1/8" mono neutrik male jack (in the works)

- Custom headband/pads (still undecided there, so in the works. Will probably make something like Headphile C-Pads and a "Beyer-like" headband)

I don't have pictures of the inside of the cups since I thought about making this thread only AFTER having glued the drivers back in (yes I know, stupid), but here are the "finished" cups:

Set on the stock Grado headband with flat pads (for now):

Used the boiling water technique to melt the glue and remove the cups. I had to pierce bigger holes in both the metal cups and the driver cups, then file it down so the jack input would fit. I glued the jack inputs onto the driver cups, and used ~1" length wires soldered onto the drivers to the jack inputs.

Will update with pictures when I receive everything I need to make the custom cable.

(Yes the cable isn't finished, I'm waiting for braided sleeves, but couldn't wait to hear em again after months of waiting, so I built the cable anyway. I'll just rebuild it when I get the sleeves)
