Also wondering if anyone here wants to buy my Audio-GD Reference 10.32? Have a PS Audio Perfectwave DAC MKII with network bridge arriving next week, so the Ref 10 is up for grabs. $2,000 should cover it (it's $2499AUD to buy new + GST/shipping). Worth bearing in mind that the PCM1704UK DAC inside the Ref 10 is basically sold out now, with Audio-GD down to only a couple of units of stock containing this DAC now. The Ref 10 HP out using it's very powerful internal amp is particularly good with the HD800 for anyone looking for a nice pairing with that headphone. Only interested in selling it to another kiwi, preferable who can bring it to the meet!

Very tempting NZTF! is that kiwi dollars as opposed to AU?

I've got a couple of things I might want to barter as well at the meet. :)

Just in case if there's anyone who has not heard about it, there's a category 3 storm codenamed 'Lusi' heading our way. Survival kits and supplies are heavily recommended. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11218607

Great News!
I would love to be there. However, that's also my third baby's due date......wouldn't be ok to leave my wife and kids in CHCH around that time................

So I'm currently in Taupo, sitting in a lake view room listening to lossless music with my full gear and drinking some tea... Does things really get much better?

Hmmmm... Highly tempted. Not been doing much serious 'phones listening of late (apart from a pair of QC-15's for the plane - not "seriou"s, but totally worth their weight!) but still very much enjoying hifi. Still could contribute a pair of SONY MDR-CD1700s (almost vintage biggrin.gif). Pencilled into the diary. Consider me a definitely maybe...

Cheers

You should definitely come, if you're into headphone audio there won't be a better place to be come May 24th :)

Just got my PS Audio Perfectwave DAC MKII with network bridge, incidentally. Hopefully the twins will allow me time to set it up tomorrow for a listen.

Let me know how it goes!

Am narrowing my options down to the PWDII, Vega, DAC2 HGC and the Master 7

I will!

Still undecided about whether I would rather have a Vega for the beautiful stack (especially since the Aries is up for consideration later too).

Quick update:

I have registered a website domain for the event and will get the site itself running sometime this week, shortly after that there will be the facility for online ticket sales from the website (and some low level advertising on places like Trademe). I have a most excellent writer prepared to blog the day for us on the site too, and he'll be packing my Lumix GH3 camera so we'll have some cracking images to go along with that. Also looking like I will have a doorman for handling tickets and providing some security (he works in security for a living).

If you are interested in blogging your experiences for the day drop me a line, be great to get a few perspectives on how it goes.

In the meantime, here is a peek at the logo design for the site and the meet:

I could even do some t-shirts for the event if that was remotely interesting to anyone.

New Zealand might only be a little place, but I think our meet is shaping up pretty nicely!

Great thing about all this is that in arranging this years meet, I am also establishing the infrastructure (ticketing mechanism, website, relationships with venue provider/power hire/exhibitors) to make this super easy to organise next year too. I mentioned the possibility of an annual meet earlier, but there was a resounding silence on the matter - you guys are keen for that right?

To be honest, arranging another would be about 25% of the effort of arranging this one.
