Just tell sammy ure problem and he will sort it out. I had a slight issue too and guess what? Sammy upgraded it to his flagship silver/gold cable (at a min cost). Thanks sammy

My RD3 should be here tomorrow. Sammy gave me a nice preview of it before sending it off along with a frequency response chart of my unit.

those look very nice, would love to see some more up close pics when you receive them..what kinda cable is that?

Theyre the panther mk1 cable. The metal housing is VERY nice but i had some peoblems with the recessed sockets and i talks to sammy about it.

Also te cable is rly nice. Very flexible and ergonomic. A bit prone to emi and microphonics though.

Wont comment on the sound yet. So far not particularly impressed but time will tell. The sound is VERY dynamic though which is nice

I suspect sammy would say burn them in re the sound.. are the shells black? what was the issue with the sockets?

(sorry for all the questions, just curious)

Was any compensation done on that graph?  That's great driver matching BTW ;)

The socket is actually plastic and ts separate from the metal housing. The plastic on my left channel is loose. Sammy has suggested using some glue. Hopefully thatll take care of that

The shells are a silver aluminum color

Personally, I hope it isn't compensated...  If not, it should be really close to the Harman target (although that was designed for over-ear headphones) which sounds really natural, warm, and inviting.  I think the drivers a little closer than damn close XD

A few more pictures for you guys. So far, soundstage is unfortunately pretty small, which Sammy mentioned saying is quite a bit less spacious than the flagship RTi1. ah well... :(

keep burning it in, my RTi1 was harsh, tinny and sibilant out of the box and turned out amazeballs after burn in. They are Dynamic drivers after all and requires burn in (from what I am told). Big changes started after 20 hours..

Fingers crossed that the sounds changes

So far my favorite is the cable and the housing. I'm not sure what the material of the cable is but its some sort of elastic material that's just super flexible.
