5mm or 0.5cm dude

I just used my new DX90 DAP with the RTi1... I feel that it matches very well. More details and better imaging, and still not fatiguing. It's like I'm at the live performance!

Wow nice!! I just ordered a colorfly c4 and will post impressions of the synergy with the RTi1. Sadly, the RTi1 has been with the wife after the 100 burn in. Gave the wife a choice of my iems (1plus2, RTi1, sd3) and took the RTi1.

There might be some concerns running Colorfly C4 with the already bass light RTi1.

C4 suffers a fairly extreme amount of low end roll-off as shown here in the graph with low impedance IEM's.

I just bought a colorfly C4 yesterday. I noticed a bass roll off when listening with my Westone 4R IEMs (31 Ohms) with the 3.5mm port. This was quite disappointing as my cheaper Ipod and Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (with Voodoo Sound Mod) goes deeper. I dont have a custom eq to boost the low frequency either. confused_face.gif

I saw that you posted that colorfly rolls off low bass (<100Hz) with low impedance loads but with high impedance headphones it should be fine. What impedance do you think it should be fine with? I purchased a Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 ohm, do you think that will be fine. Also I was wondering what would happen if I used an impedance adapter with my IEM (3.5 to 6.3mm adapter +75 Ohms). Would that increase the bass response?

I was just really looking forward to it. Everything is perfect just this lack of bass is distracting. Any suggestions?

P.S. I am yet to use the 6.3mm port. Some people said that it has more power and the sound seems to be better.

Thanks and best regards,

I would probably contact audionewbi as we talked about it in this thread.

Thanks for that bro,

But the one I bought is no ordinary Colorfly C4 pro. Its been modded with a pair of Black gate Capacitors for both the 6.5mm and the 3.5mm. The bass roll-off of the C4 has now been negated.

But if it doesnt pair well with the RTi1, I still have my 1plus2 and Sd3 to try pair with it. lol. So no biggie.

My current Ihifi960 + Portatube plus with the RTi1 is a match made in heaven btw

Lucky you!

If it's been modded I believe you shouldn't have a problem. To my understanding replacing the caps on both HO's will cure the problem!

Yeap, been reading tons of material for the modded C4 pro (albeit via google translate lol) and its been confirmed that this easy mod was the fix and from owners of the modded C4 pros, its performance is now on the same playing field with the HM901 and beats ak120, ak100, hm801s, dx100s...(this is from them...not me)..

Sadly, cant make this comparison as I know no one in the Dark side of the Moon who has the above. I only have my trusty Ihifi960

I've just purchased the DX90 myself, upgrading from the Dx50. I'll be running them along with my incoming RD3 and my DUET!

Congrats, Cotnijoe!  I do not have the DX50, but everyone seems to say that the DX90 is a worthy upgrade.

Please let us know how the RD3 sounds in due time...  :beerchug:

I have used my rti1 for about 60 hours now and they sound great. Could have more bass. But the cable has failed after 4 weeks. I have to say rhapsodio makes amazing iems but their cables are some of the worst I have seen. My rhapsodio R^2s cable just fell apart after three weeks. Other cables I have still works after several years.
