Hey Head-Fi people! I'm thinking of getting my first DAC/Amp. I have B&W P7's and I did some research and found out this two. I'm primarily going to use them both on my iMac and MacBook Pro. Which one would you recommend, or if theres any better one, which one? My budget is 300 dollars more or less. Thanks!

Will you be using this on the go? If so, the explorer will be a better choice, but I honestly don't think you will hear a night and day difference to invest 300 dollars for a dac/amp for your headphones. The DAC section of apple hardware is usually better than pcs and the headphones you use don't require much juice to perform. I would just save the 300, or you can audition the explorer and return it if you agree with my opinion.

Okay, so you wouldn't recommend getting an amp? I read this headphones get a huge bass boost, but if you think it won't sound much better, i'd rather get a stand or something else. Thanks!

I'm just basing my recommendation off of the headphone specs. If you can order off amazon and test it out for yourself, then I would go with that route. For me, I always take recommendations but am always curious until i try it for myself.
