Orthos usually have great bass response that extends deep. If you want more bass you can always EQ it. That said you might also want to look into the Fostex TH600 for large amounts of bass.

After reading through the forum reviews, I decided that I would be going for the Audeze LCD -2 or LCD-3, but I would like to know before I do end buying them that is it really worth paying an extra $1000 for the LCD-3 and will notice any difference between both of them.

There might be a 10% difference, the lcd3 is better but the bang to buck ratio is not nearly as good as the lcd2. Save that money and get an amp/dac for them.

Perfect will buy the LCD-2 instead and save the extra cash buying amp but not until after my exams. Will I be able to drive them well with my sound card and also is this site secure to buy from?

Site is definitely secure and trusted. Sound card will probably run it but not very well, look for an amp/dac.

Will place an order on Monday then, will consider an amp/dac after buying the headphones that’s if the sound card can’t drive them well enough. I’m trying to avoid buying them now because I’m saving toward a Vaio Pro which I would prefer instead of an amplifier. I will like to thank you for all your help I really appreciate it.

You won't get a big difference coming from he 400 to lcd2

You can pick more details in music with lcd2 but i feel like it hit a little less hard (cleaner ok)
The he 400's are fun headphones meaning the whole sound is great, when I listen to the lcd2 I am more in the music, listening to details.

I play bf4 also and he 400 + asus stx is a great combo (I have the essence st)
The dac section and the amplification of it is good enough

If you want to get new headphones myself I prefer opened cans to avoid closed feeling when teamspeaking

Get an amp but make sure you won't get no hiss or hum from it
Objective 2, matrix m-stage (not with lcd2) are cheap and easy to pair
