Greetings all. New member here. I am a 39y/o wannabe audiophile. My beats headphone gifted to me a few years ago have finally died. I have been wanting to upgrade to a "real" set of phones for quite some time, however i could not justify the expense while my beats were still functioning. So... i am US military besed overseas, so my ability to go out and test different headphones prior to purchase is rather limited.
I will be using my phones to listen to music, all genres with the exception of rap, looking at my current playlist, I see some Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Dave Matthews, Imagine dragons, Adele, and quite a bit of Acoustic/Unplugged. I will be playing my music using either a macbook pro, ipad air or a Nexus 5. Almost everything is lossless.
After doing quite a bit of online research I have narrowed down my options. I am looking at BeyerDynamic DT770-Pro-250 or the Beyer DT770-Pro-32.
Amps- I am looking at the Fiio E17, FIIO E11, Fiio E12.
I am leaning towards a DT770-250, Fiio E11-E12 combo. I am new to real headphones so, I am only going off internet research. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am open to any and all headphone and amp or just phones suggestions. 3 days ago I knew NOTHING about headphones and amps, today after 2.5 days of research, I know a little more, but what I thought was a simple decision has turned into a major process. Maybe I am overthinking it, I am just trying to get the best combo for the budget.
P.S. Budget: I would like to have a decent setup and still be able to eat this month, 300 sounds like a good number.
